Abdul El-Sayed keeps saying he and his family have zero ties to the Muslim Brotherhood. Here’s the short version: His father-in-law spent years in leadership of the Islamic Society of North America and the Council on American-Islamic Relations’ Michigan chapter—both named unindicted co-conspirators in the Holy Land Foundation case, both tied by prosecutors and a federal judge to the U.S. Muslim Brotherhood network and Hamas. His father is currently on the board of Life for Relief and Development, a charity whose CEO and other board members appear in a 1992 directory of U.S.-based Muslim Brotherhood leaders seized and entered as evidence in that same case. And a few days ago in Caro he answered a direct “will you disavow the Muslim Brotherhood?” with a quick “Sure.
