My primary objective right now is to build a unique remote access ecosystem that integrates the best software streaming protocols and hardware-based KVM solutions into a single, unified client. Software Agent This hub brings together top-tier protocols and streaming tools, eliminating the need to choose just one or struggle with complex network setup and configuration. It currently features my own custom protocol—written in Rust and dubbed USBridge Streamer—alongside popular open-source solutions like Sunshine, PunkFunk, and Vibepollo. The system delivers 4K @ 120 FPS streaming with the lowest possible latency. It includes full USB passthrough, support for gamepads and MIDI devices, and everything required for graphic design (including Wacom tablet support with pressure/tilt sensitivity and accurate 4:4:4 color reproduction). It comes with built-in Tailscale for global connectivity, an integrated protocol benchmark (allowing you to test which protocol performs best on your specific hardware and network setup in under a minute), AI-vision capabilities, MCP (Model Context Protocol) integration, virtual displays, and clipboard synchronization. Hardware Agent You can also connect KVM-over-IP hardware to the same USBridge client used for software-based remote access. This includes my custom USBridge 2.0 KVM, which can read BIOS screens and convert them into text via OCR—all with a latency of just ~25ms at 1080p 60 FPS. You can even build your own DIY KVM using hardware you already have on hand (configurations for Radxa boards are currently available, with support for more boards in development) or by using the widely available, ultra-affordable Nano KVM. I’ve upgraded my USBridg firmware to the point where the Nano KVM now delivers a crisp 1080p signal at 60 fps. It supports gamepads, Tailscale (getting it optimized for the Nano KVM—which only has a single core—was quite a challenge!), and audio.

For those interested in giving it a try: the software component is open-source, and the KVM firmware operates on a free-trial model (24 hours of full-featured testing). github.com/USBridge-Technolo… If you ever need to reinstall it, no problem—you can just set it up again, and it’s good to go. What do you think about this approach—combining software with a physical KVM in a single client?

I had to put quite a bit of work into optimizing Tailscale today! Since the Nano KVM runs on a low-power single-core processor, Tailscale was consuming too many resources, which caused the video stream to stutter. After some fine-tuning, everything is running perfectly smoothly—no lag and no drops in FPS!

With Vibepollo integrated, USBridge Agent officially acts as a unified protocol hub for all major streaming backends. Give it a spin and let me know how the latency feels on your setup!

I just released the USBridge firmware that turns the notoriously sluggish Nano KVM into an absolute 60 FPS beast! 🚀 I was tired of the terrible latency in my homelab, so I did some tweaking and built a custom firmware. Just look at the video: I’m getting a solid 60 frames per second over a standard Wi-Fi 5 connection. The input lag is virtually non-existent, and with the native gamepad passthrough I set up, I'm literally gaming through a KVM. I spent a lot of sleepless nights optimizing this video stream, so grab the image and test it out. I can't wait to see how it runs in your setups! #nanokvm #homelab #usbridge #kvmoverip #sysadmin #JetKVM

@GithubProjects I want to share my latest project—an ultra-fast, open-source remote access ecosystem designed to solve unconventional engineering challenges. I was tired of the compromises in existing solutions, so I designed my own. Here is what I managed to implement: - Multiprotocol Agent Hub: My system acts as a unified hub, integrating various open-source protocols like Sunshine and Punktfunk under the hood. - Maximum Performance: I optimized the software to consistently deliver a 4K video stream at 120 FPS. - Hybrid KVM Ecosystem: This is a truly unique feature of the project. I merged classic software-based remote access with hardware KVM functionality into a single environment. You can now use the software and manage the hardware from one place. - Hardware Passthrough for macOS: Anyone who has tried knows how difficult it is to pass a graphics tablet (like Wacom) over a network to macOS and get the native drivers to recognize it. I solved this problem at the hardware level: I developed a physical device based on an ESP32-S3 microcontroller that passes the tablet through directly. All the source code, ESP32 firmware, and documentation are already open-sourced. I would appreciate your stars, feedback, and any new contributors! github.com/USBridge-Technolo… #OpenSource #GitHub #RemoteAccess #KVM #ESP32 #Sunshine #Punktfunk #Wacom #MacOS

Yesterday, I managed to get video capture working on my custom firmware for the Nano KVM! A rock-solid 60 FPS. The smoothness is night and day compared to the stock version. The firmware release is coming in a couple of days. #NanoKVM #homelab #jetkvm
