Strong economic partnerships don’t happen by accident – they happen because people invest the time to build them. It was great to welcome the JAXUSA Partnership & @JAXChamber to the Embassy during their 13th annual economic development mission to expand connections between Jacksonville, Florida and businesses and organizations from across the UK. The 🇺🇸&🇬🇧 are turning bridges across the Atlantic into superhighways!

A pleasure to be a part of opening @BankofAmerica’s new hub in Belfast which will create more skilled jobs for the local community and build on the company's commitment to broadening economic opportunity in Northern Ireland. This is what's possible when we get the fundamentals right: an open, fair, and reciprocal investment climate that works for businesses and workers on both sides of the Atlantic.

Harriet and I found it incredibly moving to join our British friends last week in remembering the events and victims of 9/11 at Lloyd’s of London's beautiful service. If you need proof of the profound and unbreakable bond between the United States and United Kingdom, look no further than our financial sectors in the wake of 9/11. My thanks to everyone who shared their powerful recollections of that tragic day, and to the Lloyd’s choir for their stirring rendition of “God Bless America.” Watch the full service here: youtube.com/live/qB_SFKmWbiU
Today, we joined @belfastcc Lord Mayor Cllr. Róis-Máire Donnelly at the 9/11 Memorial Tree at City Hall to reflect on one of our nation’s darkest hours. Twenty five years on, we remember the courage and sacrifice of our first responders as well as the extraordinary support that we received from the people of Northern Ireland on that tragic day.

This morning Harriet and I commemorated September 11 by paying our respects at the permanent memorial in Grosvenor Square, a reminder of the way our British friends stood alongside us in one of our nation’s darkest hours. We will never forget the lives lost and those whose lives were forever changed by the attacks.

Harriet and I were proud to stand with our British allies and invited guests on the eve of the 25th anniversary of the September 11th attacks, to remember those we lost and those whose lives were forever changed. We dedicated a memorial stone and were moved by the Embassy’s commemorative exhibit displaying items left by the British public in solidarity in the aftermath of the attacks. Twenty five years later, our nations continue to stand together.

A privilege to celebrate five years of AUKUS with our allies at a special parliamentary reception last night. Together, we are strengthening deterrence, advancing cutting-edge technology, and helping safeguard a free and open Indo-Pacific.

As the UK marks its first National Day for Victims and Survivors of Terrorism today, it is another moment to pause in reflection and honor the best of humanity whose lives have been affected by the worst of it. We are again reminded of how the U.S. and UK stand united in our darkest moments, and we will continue to work together to fight the scourge of terrorism and protect our way of life.

In my meeting with UK Foreign Secretary @Ed_Miliband, we discussed the need for Europe to take a greater role in its own security. We also reaffirmed our shared commitment to open transit in the Strait of Hormuz and ensuring Iran never obtains a nuclear weapon.

Great to welcome delegates from across Europe and Eurasia to the U.S. Embassy for the @USTDA Civil Nuclear Workshop reception. Together with government and industry partners, we're strengthening cooperation on safe, secure, and innovative civil nuclear energy to support our shared energy security.
