@UNODC_BMB, with support from Japan 🇯🇵 @JapanMissionVie, strengthened the maritime crime investigation capabilities of maritime law enforcement agencies in Timor-Leste 🇹🇱, bringing together experts from @JCG_koho and the Deputy Head of Mission of the Embassy of Japan in Dili.

From crime scene to courtroom 🌊 This week, 🇱🇷#MLE officers are building skills in 🌊 investigations, crime scene management & evidence collection with @UNODC_BMB, helping turn arrests at 🌊 into successful prosecutions. Funded 🇪🇺 under the #Safe Seas for Africa project.

🇧🇦 I @UNODC trained 32 customs and police officers to identify and control illegal hazardous waste shipments, strengthening risk-based controls and inter-agency cooperation to protect people and the environment. Supported by @SwedenUN.

🇽🇰 I @UNODC and @WCO_OMD mentored 7 police and customs officers at the Land Border Control Unit in Vermica/Vrbnica, strengthening risk profiling, targeting and inspection to counter illicit trafficking while facilitating legitimate flows. 🇪🇺 Funded by the @EU_Commission

🇲🇪 I 🇽🇰 I 🇦🇱 @UNODC and @WCO_OMD trained 26 customs and police officers from in air cargo profiling and inspection, strengthening regional cooperation to counter illicit trafficking and facilitate legitimate trade. 🇪🇺 Funded by the @EU_Commission

In Pretoria, senior law enforcement officers of 🇿🇦 🇲🇿 🇹🇿 are coming together for the Ministerial TPC TROIKA to strengthen regional efforts against drug trafficking and organized crime, developing a shared strategy for a safer region with the support of @UNODC_BMB @SAPoliceService

🇬🇦 I Gabon strengthens its fight against illegal timber trafficking. @UNODC , with @StateINL 🇺🇸 support, trained five future trainers in timber identification and cargo inspections, and equipped Libreville’s new Port Control Unit with two timber detection devices.
