🌍 On this #DayOfTheGirl, #evaluations from Benin 🇧🇯 and Nigeria 🇳🇬 illuminate what it takes to turn girls' potential into opportunity. Evidence from both countries underscores a clear lesson: integrated action delivers stronger results for girls. When quality education is combined with mentoring, community engagement, positive role models and women's leadership, girls are more likely to stay in school, succeed and shape their futures. #IGD2026 #GirlsEducation #EvidenceForAction Read the #Evaluation reports: • Benin: unicef.org/evaluation/report… 👈 • Nigeria: unicef.org/evaluation/report… 👈

In recognition of the #InternationalDayOfTheGirlChild, we’re highlighting new evidence on what works to advance the rights and leadership of adolescent girls across East Asia and the Pacific. A recent @UNICEFAPRO Formative #Evaluation of adolescent girls–focused programming reveals promising progress: ✨ What’s working well: • Strong multisectoral models integrating education, health, WASH and child protection • Meaningful youth engagement through mechanisms like Youth Reference Groups • Growing institutionalization of girls’ programming in national systems—supporting scale and sustainability ⚠️ But challenges remain: • Uneven prioritization of adolescent girls across sectors • Limited tracking of empowerment outcomes • Insufficient engagement with girl‑led and women‑led organizations • Persistent data gaps, especially for marginalized girls 🗝️ Key actions going forward: • Institutionalize girls’ leadership and empowerment as measurable outcomes • Expand multisectoral partnerships—including social protection for girls programming • Improve disaggregated data systems • Strengthen budget tagging and specialist staffing for accountability and sustained impact As we mark #InternationalDayOfTheGirlChild, we reaffirm that evidence-driven, girl‑centered programming is essential to advancing equity, opportunity, and leadership for every girl. 📘 Read the full #evaluation: unicef.org/evaluation/report… 👈

🤖 AI is changing how programme decisions are made. Evaluation needs to keep pace. At #FL26, @UNICEFEval’s @ZlataBruckauf joined @Jrannan (@RESCUE_Airbel), @CK_Spiess (@BMZBund @BMZ_Bund) and Tilman Brück (ISDC – International Security and Development Center @ISDCBerlin) to explore a critical question: Can AI help us reach the most vulnerable children without causing unintended harm? As forecasting, predictive analytics and geospatial data increasingly influence how interventions are targeted, designed and delivered, we need to understand not only where AI can help, but also where it cannot. For #evaluation, that means adapting how we assess effectiveness, equity and risk, while embracingAI’s potential to make evidence generation more rigorous, timely and agile. fl26.exordo.com/ #FL26 #Evaluation #AI #Evidence #FragileSettings #UNICEF #ForEveryChild

👩‍🏫👨‍🏫 This #WorldTeachersDay, we recognize that teachers are at the heart of learning recovery during or post-crises. #Evaluation evidence shows that training helped teachers identify learning gaps, improve classroom practice, and better support children's emotional well-being. It also reminds us that supporting teachers themselves is essential to helping children thrive. 🔗Explore the @UNICEFLebanon #evaluation: unicef.org/evaluation/report… 👈 #ForEveryChild #TeachersDay #LearningRecovery

On 🌍 International Day of Non-Violence, we spotlight findings from the @UNICEF Dominican Republic @UNICEFRD #evaluation of the project “Prevention of Child Marriage and Early Unions of Children and Adolescents in Three Priority Territories of the Dominican Republic.” The #evaluation found promising evidence that the project contributed to positive change: ✨ Key Findings ✅ The project helped strengthen girls’ self-esteem, leadership, and decision-making skills. ✅ Communities demonstrated more positive attitudes toward preventing child marriage and early unions. ✅ Local institutions improved their capacity to address and prevent these harmful practices. ⚠️ Challenges That Remain ▪ Limited reach in rural areas. ▪ Low engagement of men and boys. ▪ Deeply rooted gender norms that continue to normalize violence and early unions. 🔎 The Way Forward The #evaluation recommends expanding strategies in rural communities, strengthening engagement with men and boys, enhancing technical support for local actors, and securing sustainable financing to sustain and scale results. On this International Day of Non-Violence, we are reminded that protecting every child’s right to a safe, empowered, and violence-free future requires continued commitment and action. 💜 Together, we can help build more equitable communities where girls and adolescents can thrive. #InternationalDayOfNonViolence #EndViolence #ChildProtection #DominicanRepublic #UNICEF #ForEveryChild Read the #evaluation report: unicef.org/evaluation/report…
