🌾 From pilot to national scale: UNCDF and partners are advancing agricultural insurance in Sierra Leone
This week, UNCDF and the Government of Sierra Leone convened a high-level stakeholder validation workshop on the proposed National Agricultural Insurance Policy.

At the “Financing the Just Energy Transition” dialogue Pradeep Kurukulasuriya, UNCDF Executive Secretary, highlighted what it takes to move from perceived risk to committed capital.
UNCDF has signed a partnership agreement with the International Trade Centre (ITC) on the margins of #UNGA81 to expand access to finance for small businesses in developing markets.

Digital inclusion is about connecting people and ensuring more people have access to digital solutions.
At #UNGA81, we joined @ETMissionUN, @UNCDF, @UNOSSC & partners to explore how we can work together to make digital solutions more accessible & affordable for all.
Following the successful completion of the EU’s Pillar 6 assessment for financial instruments, UNCDF is now able to directly manage EU resources through guarantees, loans, investments and blended finance facilities.

Too many projects in developing countries struggle to attract investment because the risks are simply too high.
Today, Commissioner @JozefSikela and I signed a new €50 million EU guarantee.
With this guarantee, the UN Capital Development Fund can take some of that risk and bring more public and private finance into cities and local communities.
This will support affordable housing, renewable energy, water and essential local services across developing countries.
