On the 25th anniversary of the 9/11 terror attacks, the United Kingdom remembers the near 3,000 people who lost their lives on that terrible day, including 67 British citizens. We pay tribute to all those affected including frontline emergency workers, who continue to confront the threat of terrorism and put their lives at risk to protect others. We honour the courage and sacrifice of members of the Armed Forces who have lost their lives in the fight against terrorism. Britain stood with our American friends a quarter of a century ago. 🧑‍🚀🪐 The King has visited Harwell Campus and opened the new UK Space and Defence Gateway. His Majesty toured the world class facilities and equipment at RAL Space, the UK’s National Space Laboratory, before viewing a showcase of space technology. The King launched the new Gateway at Harwell, which will be a dedicated hub for national and global collaboration that will shape tomorrow’s space and defence economy. During the visit, the @TheSMI announced a partnership with @HarwellCampus to align with the principles of the Astra Carta. The partnership will bring together leaders from across the space ecosystem to accelerate collaboration, innovation, and investment in support of a more sustainable space economy.
