Video: The names of those killed in Israel’s genocide in Gaza

ALT We, like the majority of young people across the country, are outraged by the genocide which we are witnessing in Gaza. It is credibly estimated that nearly 200,000 Palestinians have been killed by the Israeli Defense Force and over 1.9 million have been displaced. Israeli bombs have demolished more than 50% of Gaza's civilian infrastructure. Families that were told they would be "safe" if they evacuated south to Rafah are now being bombed on a daily basis, all while the US has sent over $12 billion to the Israeli apartheid regime. This has to stop. As the only Palestinian-American in Congress, you have been a brave voice in demanding a permanent ceasefire, opposing US military aid to Israel, and advocating for the right of return, and equal rights for all people from the river to the sea.

ALT You have also been a champion of other key, working-class policies, like Medicare for All, a Green New Deal, and tuition free public college. Unfortunately, your brave stance on these issues have made you an outlier in the US political system, and have resulted in you being censured and threatened with expulsion. This November, working people face a dark choice for President. The Biden-Harris administration has continued and tightened the brutal anti-immigration policies of the Trump administration, approved new oil and gas pipelines and drilling, broken a potential railway strike, and has given political and military support to Israel's genocide. This administration's betrayal of its own base and failure to address the needs of working class people has paved the way for the far-right.

ALT Trump administration, approved new oil and gas pipelines and drilling, broken a potential railway strike, and has given political and military support to Israel's genocide. This administration's betrayal of its own base and failure to address the needs of working class people has paved the way for the far-right. Donald Trump and his running mate JD Vance are running to advance the dangerous far-right agenda outlined in Project 2025: to conduct mass deportations of immigrants, crackdown on the right to protest or form a union, cut taxes for corporations and the wealthy, and ban abortion and trans healthcare. During the Biden-Trump presidential debate in June, the American working class saw that they have no real voice in this election. A new opportunity has presented itself however, as President Biden's decision to step down as the Democratic Party's nominee has shaken up the presidential race.

ALT STATEMENT from the National Coordinating Committee "Rise Up for Rashida!": An Open Letter to Congresswoman Rashida Tlaib from YDSA JULY 26, 2024 As the Young Democratic Socialists of America (YDSA) held our annual national convention this past weekend, news broke that President Joe Biden had dropped out of the presidential race. While we are thrilled to see Biden's political career come to a disgraceful end, we are also clear-eyed about the reality that his likely replacement, Vice-President Kamala Harris, is equally complicit in the ongoing genocide in Palestine and the remainder of the Biden Administration's weak and regressive legacy, including the racist militarized border policy she herself directly oversaw.

ALT To defeat Trump and the far-right for good, we will require a mass movement of working people for democracy and socialism. For that reason, our national convention voted to urge Congresswoman Rashida Tlaib to launch a campaign for President and challenge Vice-President Harris for the Democratic nomination. We encourage everyone to read our letter to Congresswoman Tlaib and to sign our petition (in bio) to urge her to heed this call to action. The Letter: Dear Congresswoman Rashida Tlaib, We write to you on behalf of the Young Democratic Socialists of America. We are the youth section of the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA), the largest socialist organization in the country. (continued on next page)

ALT Congresswoman Tlaib, as a member of DSA and a rare champion of the people in Congress, we want to express our great concern to you about the state of the 2024 presidential election. Our generation has witnessed with horror the genocidal slaughter of the Palestinian people, carried out under a Democratic administration. We have exercised every possible avenue available to us to oppose this massacre. We have been targeted for a campaign of smears and intimidation by powerful politicians and mass media, bankrolled by many of the same capitalist interests trying to oust opponents of the genocide from public office this November. For our protests, we have been expelled from our schools, tear gassed and beaten by police on our campuses, arrested and jailed by our university presidents, and more.
