Henry County Schools' fall Community Conversations are happening over the next several weeks! These gatherings are an opportunity to hear updates from elementary, middle, and high schools across each cluster, while also highlighting student displays, performances, and accomplishments. Community members will have the opportunity to share feedback, connect with school and district leaders, and learn more about the great things happening across HCS. #BrightFuturesBeginInHCS #HenryProud #YouBelongInHenry

HCS recently hosted its fifth annual Hispanic Heritage Month Celebration at the Fairview Performing Arts Center. This week on “Catch the Pace,” Dr. Pace celebrates the start of Hispanic Heritage Month and highlights the important role Latino heritage plays in Henry County Schools and the larger community. More than 13% of HCS students are Hispanic, and more than 2,000 students speak Spanish at home. Dr. Pace is joined by Señora Cyndy Cruz, Spanish teacher at Tussahaw Elementary School, and her second grade students to showcase how learning another language helps students build connections in our global society while supporting academic and personal growth. Students who continue their language studies through high school can also work toward earning the Georgia Seal of Biliteracy or International Skills Diploma Seal, providing valuable advantages as they prepare for college and future careers. The episode also highlights resources available to Spanish-speaking HCS families through the Welcome Center, including English classes for parents and families and workshops designed to help families navigate Google Classroom, access district services, and support student learning at home. HCS invites the community to continue the celebration at the annual Hispanic Heritage Month celebration on October 3 at 11 a.m. at the Fairview Performing Arts Center. #BrightFuturesBeginInHCS #HenryProud #YouBelongInHenry

"Scott Wade embodies what it means to be an educator who goes far beyond the classroom. He isn’t just a social studies teacher — he’s a steady, supportive presence who shows up, invests deeply, and helps shape the culture of the school in meaningful ways. He has made an impact on everyone fortunate enough to learn from or work alongside him." Stay tuned as we highlight our exceptional teachers and their commitment to providing a high-quality, world-class education for every student, leading up to the #2026TOTY ceremony on Sept. 24. #BrightFuturesBeginInHCS #HenryProud #YouBelongInHenry
