As someone who travels a lot, I know how hard @afa_cwa members work, and they do it all with smiles on their face. They deserve safety and fair pay. From the fields to the skies- we’re with you!
Thank you @UFWPresident for standing with Flight Attendants on the picket line fighting corporate greed. Flight Attendants stand with Farm Workers! #1u
We will be appealing this ruling, but that takes time.
Every step of our grueling march to make it safer for workers to vote in their union elections, we had your support. In the days ahead we will need you again. In the meantime, we appreciate your solidarity. ¡Sí se puede!

The Biden-Harris admin has raised farm worker wages, and ushered in crucial new labor protections. Proud to be in Detroit today, standing with a President who has stood with us.

Farm workers are essential––yet a lack of protections often leaves them vulnerable to wage theft, human trafficking, & other harm.
I applaud @USDOL for publishing new regulations to strengthen and expand their workplace rights.

Ag work has to be sustainable to the farm workers feeding this country. When workers come in as guest workers, they need to be protected— and not in a way that undercuts US farm workers by suppressing wages or lowering standards.
Today’s H2A final rule is a good step.
As soon as an H2A worker leaves his or her home, they are very vulnerable to harm. They come here to do the work it takes to feed America, but too often they have faced poor living conditions, abuse and exploitation.
We can and must do better for these workers.

Maine leads? I don't think so. For the fourth time @GovJanetMills vetoes a bill that would improve the lives of those who feed us. For those keeping score, she is now 4 for 4 in that regard!

Maine’s governor Janet Mills just vetoed an extremely stripped down bill that would require paying farm workers the state minimum wage. What a disgrace.
She vetoed a bill last year that would have given farm workers collective bargaining rights and minimum wage.
This is our statement on @GovJanetMills’ shameful veto of a minimum wage for farmworkers in Maine. #mepolitics #Shame
After extensive work and deep compromises from many legislators and advocates, Democrat Gov. Mills vetoed the farm worker minimum wage bill over one single sentence - codifying farm workers’ rights to sue if they are exploited.

People should not be exposed to many of these pesticides at all (in any amount) but consumers are exposed to trace amounts compared to the farm workers applying them.

Chlorpyrifos is an incredibly harmful chemical that we spray on foods in the United States. In fact, it’s so harmful that the EU, Canada, and other countries have banned it because it has been definitively proven to harm children’s brains, even in trace amounts.
A few months ago the 8th Circuit Court of Appeals overturned a ban on this chemical, allowing the its use in the U.S.
We have an urgency here, to fight for a permanent ban on the use of this chemical in our country. As a U.S. Senator it is my duty to protect American children and families, and I promise to be a leader in this fight.
