(Too) many years ago, I was invited to participate in this project with a chapter on Reagan’s Kissinger Commission on Central America. I can’t tell you how thrilled I am that I can finally share it with you. jacobin.com/2023/11/kissinge…

Years ago, I was delighted to be invited to join this project. I had started to worry this day would never come…
One obituary was never going to be enough, so we wrote a book and... waited. Web: jacobin.com/kissinger-only-t… Print: jacobin.com/store/product/ki… @GregGrandin @sunraysunray @VersoBooks

El Salvador’s first and only call center union was defeated in 2014 after a long struggle for collective representation. Exciting to see the organizing kicking back up in this growing outsourced & “nearshored” workforce!

También personas trabajadoras de "call centers" ersonas que laboran en "call centers" o centros de llamadas y tercerización de servicios se sumaron este año a la marcha para denunciar diversas violaciones a sus derechos laborales.

I reviewed Vanni Pettinà’s “Compact History of Latin America’s Cold War” for @jacobin. Analysis of the far right demands a critique that takes Latin American societies’ internal contradictions seriously. Imperialism should never be underestimated, but it can’t explain it all.
Latin America’s antidemocratic forces were not created wholesale by Cold Warriors in Washington — local fascists had their own momentum and the military regimes had an “independent streak” that sometimes even clashed with the US. jacobin.com/2023/05/us-imper…
