Social care reform has dominated the news in recent weeks. With a Prime Minister who has said he is committed to solving social care and the expected publication of the Casey Commission next year, the momentum surrounding adult social care is bigger than ever before. But what does adult social care have to do with young carers? We want to ensure that young carers are not forgotten in the conversation on adult social care and highlight that adult social care has an important responsibility to identify and support young carers and their families. As part of this with members from the Casey Commission Team, we are holding a Young Carers and Adult Social Care Summit! 📅 Thursday 29th October ⏰ 1-2:30pm (online) This will be an opportunity for young carers caring for a relative over 18, young carers who have transitioned/are transitioning to adulthood, and for professionals supporting young carers to share their experiences. Please sign up to register yourself and any young carers here: bit.ly/4hzpy5h We are particularly interested in making sure that as many young carers and young adult carers as possible are able to attend. For the Casey Commission Team, it will be especially powerful to hear directly from young carers themselves. Any support you can offer in facilitating young carers' attendance would be hugely appreciated! Any questions, please email [email protected]
