Azkiyhom - Martyr Ashraf Nafa'a - Tulkarm
The nickname “Azkiyhom” meaning “let them taste it,” was first given to his uncle, a Qassam Brigades fighter in Tulkarm during the Second Intifada. The uncle was killed by Israeli snipers on 27 April 2004.
Years later, Ashraf took the name for himself.
Ashraf was a young Palestinian from the Tulkarm refugee camp in the West Bank. He was assassinated on 23 July 2024 in an Israeli drone strike during a raid on the camp. Palestinian sources and martyr posters refer to him as a “martyr” and commander.
He became the local commander of Hamas’s Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades in the Tulkarm camp, succeeding earlier leaders who had been killed. Tulkarm’s armed groups in this period often operated as mixed “battalions” that included members from Hamas, Palestinian Islamic Jihad, and the Fatah-linked Al-Aqsa Martyrs’ Brigades.
