I genuinely fear for U2 if this leads to a tour. The world has changed, and I don’t think they’ve grasped just how different the landscape is now, particularly in the US. If they misread the mood, they risk being so far off the mark that it could overwhelm them.

Irish singer-songwriter Aaron Rowe has pulled out of opening for Ed Sheeran after the tour dropped Macklemore for making "Free Palestine" speeches.
"I have made the decision to withdraw as a support act for Ed Sheeran's 'The Loop' North American Tour. I don't take the decision lightly. Ed has been a friend to me and has changed my life, I could never thank him enough for this. But as Irish people, we know all too well about genocide, forced famine and violent occupation.
I cannot stand by and allow billionaires to use their position of power to silence the rightful voices of those who speak up against Israeli genocide and who highlight the savage murder of children. I would lose all respect for myself to carry on as normal.

Shamrock Rovers Football Club has learned that Rovers supporter Chris Andrews has been detained while taking part in a humanitarian mission, delivering food and aid to Gaza.
Chris has previously worked alongside the club in supporting the Gaza Kids to Tallaght initiative, which brought young footballers from Gaza to Ireland in 2017 and 2018. During those visits, Shamrock Rovers welcomed the children to Tallaght Stadium, where they were treated as guests, meeting players and fans, and received Rovers attire as a gesture of welcome and support.
We call for his safe return.
