In 1957, Jesus healed a crippled man suffering from a severe lower-limb impairment at T. L. Osborn crusade in Ibadan Jesus is the same yesterday, today, & forever—still healing and restoring lives.

* sees a burn survivor * quickly bodyshames her * inserts "men" to divert attention * pretend that men are evil perverts over an idea she made up completely Once you clock that women can be inherently evil you'd stop seeing them as innocent harmless little angels

In 1955, twenty women walked through a door that had never been opened before. On 13 October 2026, history was made when IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu served as Chief Launcher in Port Harcourt for “The Origin of Police Women in Nigeria.” The book, authored by Dame Stella O. Okuyiga, DCP (Rtd.), one of the original twenty women who joined the Force in 1955, fills an important gap in the record. After seventy-one years, the story of one extraordinary woman is finally in print. The IGP recalled meeting Dame Okuyiga while serving as Commissioner of Police in Rivers State, when she shared her commitment to completing this work. He remembered that conversation. On 13 October 2026, he ensured the book’s launch took place. He described the publication as an important contribution to institutional memory and a record of courage that must be preserved. He emphasized that women serving today in investigation, intelligence, tactical operations, and leadership build on the legacy of those who came before them. Our Mummy (Dame Okuyiga) expressed deep fulfillment, knowing her story will be preserved in Police libraries and training institutions, inspiring future generations of officers. Mummy (Dame Stella Okuyiga), you joined a Force that had never before welcomed a woman in uniform. You stayed. You served. You documented it all. Because of your example, future women in the Force will never question whether they belong.
IGP DISU HONOURS PIONEER POLICEWOMEN, LAUNCHES BOOK ON WOMEN IN POLICING The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, psc(+), NPM, on Tuesday, 13th October 2026, attended the public presentation and launch of the book, “The Origin of Police Women in Nigeria: The Story of the Pioneer Women Officers and My Journey in the Nigeria Police Force (1955–1996),” authored by Dame Stella O. Okuyiga, DCP (Rtd.), KBVM, JP, at the Presidential Hotel, Port Harcourt, Rivers State. Serving as Chief Launcher, the IGP described the publication as an important contribution to preserving the institutional history of the Nigeria Police Force and celebrating the courage, resilience and service of the pioneer women officers who opened the profession to generations of women. He noted that Dame Okuyiga, one of the first 20 women to join the Force in 1955, represents a generation whose dedication helped expand the role of women in policing. The IGP stressed the importance of a Police Force that reflects and understands the diverse communities it serves, noting that women have continued to distinguish themselves across criminal investigation, intelligence, tactical operations, specialist policing and strategic leadership. He reaffirmed the Force’s commitment to merit-based advancement and equal professional opportunities, while preserving the legacy of pioneer officers to guide and inspire future generations. Paying tribute to the author, the IGP recalled his earlier engagement with Dame Okuyiga while serving as Commissioner of Police in Rivers State, when she expressed her desire to update and formally present the publication. He commended her for preserving the experiences and contributions of the pioneer generation of Policewomen and encouraged serving and retired officers, institutions and members of the public to support the publication and promote its availability in Police formations, training institutions and libraries. Responding, Dame Okuyiga expressed appreciation to the IGP and the Nigeria Police Force for the support accorded her in bringing the publication to fruition. She noted that the preservation of the book in Police libraries and training institutions would ensure that the experiences and sacrifices of the pioneer women officers remain accessible to generations of personnel, expressing fulfilment that her story and legacy would endure beyond her lifetime and continue to contribute to the institutional history of the Force. The event was attended by the Executive Governor of Rivers State, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, GSSRS, represented by the Secretary to the State Government, Dr Dagogo Wokoma; the Minister of Police Affairs, Senator Ibrahim Gaidam, represented by the Director, Police Services Department, Ezekiel Audu; AIG Aishatu Abubakar Baju, OON, mni; Commissioner of Police, Rivers State Command, CP Olugbenga Adewole Adepoju, psc, mnips; retired DIG Ivy Uche Okoronkwo, NPM, mni; alongside retired senior Police officers, traditional rulers, representatives of sister security agencies, members of the Police Officers’ Wives Association and other distinguished guests. The Nigeria Police Force remains committed to preserving its institutional history, recognising the contributions of officers who laid the foundations for today’s Force, and ensuring that advancement and leadership opportunities remain open to all personnel on the basis of professionalism, competence and merit. On October 16, 2019, I told Donald Trump, “With you, Mr. President, all roads lead to Putin.” On October 16, 2026, Trump signed an executive order waiving new sanctions on Russia passed by bipartisan majorities in Congress and signed into law just last month. This decision insults America’s commitment to democracy and our brave men and women in uniform, as Russia helps Iran target American forces. I join Republican senators in condemning this unconscionable capitulation to a Russian dictator who illegally invaded Ukraine and butchers innocent civilians. As I have asked for years: What does Putin have on Trump that he would sell out America’s values?

A Harvard professor came home from a trip to China and found his front door jammed. He forced it open. A neighbour called the police. Henry Louis Gates Jr. was arrested on his own porch, in his own house, holding his own ID. He is one of the most famous historians in America. Cambridge, Massachusetts, 16 July 2009. Gates, 58, had just flown back from China. His front door would not open. He and his driver shouldered it. A passer-by called it in as a possible break-in. Sergeant James Crowley arrived. Gates was inside his own house by then. He produced his Harvard ID and his driver's licence with that address on it. What happened next is disputed by both men and always will be. Crowley said Gates was uncooperative and loud. Gates said he was asked to step outside, understood exactly what was happening, and said so — including asking the officer for his name and badge number, repeatedly, and not getting it. He was arrested for disorderly conduct. On his own property. A fifty-eight-year-old man walking with a cane. The charge was dropped within days. Cambridge later acknowledged the arrest was regrettable. Barack Obama was asked about it at a press conference and said the police had "acted stupidly," which caused a political firestorm large enough that he convened the famous "beer summit" at the White House with Gates and Crowley to defuse it. And that is where the story usually stops, with three men and some beer on a lawn. Here is what it is actually about. Henry Louis Gates has a MacArthur fellowship, dozens of honorary degrees and a chair at Harvard. He has made television series about tracing Black ancestry. He is about as protected as a Black man in America can be. And none of it worked on his own porch. Every Black professional who has ever been told that respectability is the shield watched that arrest and understood what it meant. Gates said afterwards that the experience changed what he thought he knew about his own country, and he has spent some of the time since working on criminal justice. If it does not work for him, it does not work.

My car was towed two days ago at Oyemekun Ogba, for allegedly causing an obstruction. I have no problem paying the fine for the offence, and I paid ₦25,000 into the Lagos State Ministry of Transportation account as required. However, what I do not understand Thread 🧵

“The Lagos State Government doesn’t want the children of the poor to have access to education. We are being asked to pay ₦20,100 per child for tax clearance before they can sit for Junior WAEC. Imagine paying for 3 or 4 children! I’m just a fish and ponmo seller struggling to survive. The government should help the poor, not suffocate us. Please, give our children a chance at a better future!” —— A woman cries out.

A litre of fuel in Libya costs ₦32, while the minimum wage in the country is $208, which is roughly ₦276,000. In Saudi Arabia, a litre of fuel costs approximately ₦823, while the estimated monthly minimum wage is ₦1.4 million. Norway, another oil-producing country, provides its citizens with numerous benefits funded by the proceeds from its oil revenues. In Nigeria, however, the minimum wage is ₦70,000, while a litre of fuel costs between ₦1,300 and ₦1,900 in some places. That minimum wage amounts to a mere $52, a young chap flipping burgers at McDonald's in the US makes more than a Nigerian bank manager. Anyone earning ₦100,000 a month in Nigeria is still struggling to make ends meet and may be closer to the poverty line than their counterparts in these countries. But does the President care? How does he even sleep at night, knowing that millions of Nigerians are struggling to survive in a country blessed with abundant natural resources?

Putin doesn’t want peace. Putin wants Ukraine. Enough is enough. President Trump should rescind the diesel deal with Russia and use the Lindsey Graham Sanctioning Russia Act to impose harsh sanctions on nations purchasing Russian energy, work with our allies to ensure Ukraine has the military support it needs to repel and defeat this Russian invasion once and for all. Slava Ukraini🇺🇸🇺🇦
Moments ago, Russian forces bombed a residential neighborhood in the Ukrainian city of Kharkiv, hitting a grocery store. Three people lost their lives, and nine others, including two children, sustained injuries.

The war will cost 155 billion euros next year. And we need at least 70 billion euros more from you – for defense, for weapons, and for our resilience. This is a realistic amount. And I ask you to find this support. It will help us hold Russia back. There are some very simple facts. We stop most Russian assaults on the front line thanks to drones. We cut Russian supply lines with these technologies. And our drones are helping to weaken Russia’s economy. Right now, we could produce two or three times more drones – depending on the type. But we simply don’t have enough money for that. It’s true. Just imagine if we could put two or three times more pressure on Russia than we do today. From an address to the participants of the European Council meeting. (4/5)
