Read the thread and then the paper. Me thinks this is a fundamental insight into our experience of awareness.

ā€œI want to see fewer trillionaires and more millionairesā€ is so good. Such an elegant and Kerouacian way to explain what *real* capitalism is meant to enable.
.@JamesTalarico: I want to get back to the kind of capitalism we had in the middle of the 20th century in this country. I want competition, but it’s got to be fair competition. We’ve got to take on these monopolies, this consolidation, because again it’s fundamentally anti-capitalist. Right now, our tax system literally taxes work more than it taxes wealth. I’m advocating for a return to original capitalist principles where we actually reward work instead of wealth—an economy that creates fewer trillionaires and more millionaires.

Generally for AI products that enable creation, give it time. There is a nonzero number of talented designers who chose a different career path who now have the ability to exercise their talent without spending years learning the toolset to manifest their vision.
Google Stitch is interesting but let’s be honest about what it is. Spell check didn’t make anyone a better writer. It just made bad writing less frequent. That’s what AI design tools do. They clean up the mess. They don’t create the vision. You can prompt claude code, gemini, or any of them and they will all give you something competent. Not bad. Just not interesting. When everyone has access to ā€œpretty good,ā€ pretty good stops working. It becomes noise. The baseline shifts and very rapidly the only stuff that cuts through the noise is the stuff that has a point of view. That takes an eye and imagination and I promise you no prompt box is ever gonna give you that. In summary, good designers are definitely not cooked.

Secretary of War Crimes Pete Hegseth in his Pentagon press briefing this morning: ā€œToday will be the largest strike package yet on Iran…We’re hunting and striking. Death and destruction from above.ā€ This is how Nazis talk. He is telling you the objective is DEATH. Believe him.

So curious that such a wealthy man never posts anything that indicates that he enjoys or is even aware of what virtually everyone appreciates— scenes from nature, pet dog or cat, praise for a movie, music, a book (but doubt that he reads); pride in a friend’s or relative’s accomplishment; condolences for someone who has died; pleasure in sports, acclaim for a favorite team; references to history. In fact he seems totally uneducated , uncultured. The poorest persons on Twitter may have access to more beauty & meaning in life than the ā€œmost wealthy person in the world.ā€
