This November voters will have the opportunity to consider a bond proposal to build two new public safety buildings.
At the 8/10/26 meeting, the board approved ballot language to ask voters for 50 million dollars to construct a new police and fire station.

The FBI Detroit Field Office is seeking to identify potential victims of Kenneth Bardwell and his company Motown Sports Group Holdings Inc., who was recently charged with wire fraud. The FBI believes he primarily targeted Detroit area investors to finance the purchase of land in Romulus, Michigan, to develop a large-scale sports facility between the timeframe of 2018 until present.
The investigation is being conducted by the FBI Detroit Fraud and Financial Crimes Task Force, Birmingham Police Department (@BirminghamMi_PD), and Bloomfield Township Police Department (@TwpPolice), with assistance from West Bloomfield Police Department (@WestBlmfldPD).
