This Spanish city centre has been car-free for 20 years. 12k people have moved into the centre since the ban. The Mayor says vehicles don’t have more right to public space than people — & he’s been re-elected 4 times since banning cars. Pontevedra via @WEF

5) Thank your councillors Odds are their feeds and inboxes are full of complains from a handful of opponents. Make sure that's not the only sound they hear (and it can't hurt to reach out to your local MP too).

The law has to start treating violence on the roads the same as elsewhere. This is worse than antisocial. It’s like running through a crowd with an knife and needs to be treated as such. theguardian.com/uk-news/2020…
