It’s my favorite too.” Caught off guard by the unexpected question, Yin glances at him before giving a quiet nod. “Yeah, I do.” Every day, Yin takes his two cups of ice cream to the same window seat, yet never touches either one. It’s almost as if he’s waiting for someone who never arrives. Curious, War finally asks the shop owner, “Who is he waiting for? His ice cream is melting.” The owner watches Yin silently before answering, “His sister. He comes here at the same time every day to wait for her. But… I don’t think she’ll ever come back.” War looks towards the lonely figure by the window and softly replies, “I think his sister must have loved him very much, too.” The owner turns in surprise. “Why do you think that?” War simply smiles. “Because even though she’s no longer here, he still remembers exactly how she liked her ice cream.” And perhaps, behind those two melting cups lies a promise that time could never erase. Sometimes, love doesn’t disappear when someone is gone.
