PRESS STATEMENT
STAY INFORMED. STAY SAFE.
Public health is a shared responsibility, and the right information helps us all stay safe.
The Federal Government, working with the NCDC and relevant health authorities, is taking the necessary steps to protect public health and strengthen surveillance following the confirmation of an Ebola disease case in the FCT.
There is no need for panic. What matters is staying informed, practising good hand hygiene, knowing the symptoms and seeking guidance from public health authorities if you suspect exposure.
📌 Remember: Ebola spreads through direct contact with the blood or body fluids of an infected person who is sick or has died, or contaminated materials. It does not spread before symptoms begin.
For reliable information or to report a suspected case, call the NCDC toll-free line 6232, available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
Let’s stay calm, rely on verified information and do our part to keep our communities safe.

Six years later, not much has changed. Same government, same playbook of fear and intimidation.
Today, right here at the Lekki Toll Gate, citizens gathered peacefully to honor the lives lost six years ago during EndSARS. And how did the authorities respond? By firing tear gas at us.
Let that sink in.
Six years after a generation cried out for basic dignity, safety, and accountability in policing, a peaceful memorial is still met with an unprovoked tear gas attack?
The message is loud and clear, they are still terrified of remembrance, they are still terrified of accountability, and they are still terrified of YOU speaking up.
Expressing grief and sympathy is not a crime. Peaceful assembly and solemn reflection should not be met with state brutality and repression.
Effective governance is not about silencing the streets. It is about building a system that listens, that protects, that includes and that provides for everyone.
To every young person and resident carrying the vision of a better Lagos, never forget that your voice is powerful, that your vote carries your voice and that the ballot is the vehicle through which you can speak loudest and change the story.
We remember, We rise.

If we don’t want a critical society, let’s just say it openly. If this is not a democracy, let’s be clear about it. Stop bullying journalists.
What’s wrong in asking a man if his wife’s highly important role in election won’t interfere with his overt partisan stance? Obviously, it’s okay for the husband to defend the honour and professional ability of his spouse.
That should be the summary of the whole exchange.

Only First Class and Second Class Upper graduates should qualify to become teachers. Teachers’ starting salaries should be a minimum of ₦500,000 per month.
Teachers should be required to take professional qualification examinations every two years.
There should be an Education Bank where teachers can access very low-interest loans for car financing, home financing and other essential needs.
Teaching should be one of the most prestigious and highly respected professions in the country.

Fun fact: I had a suit planned for this shoot, but my designer had an emergency and couldn’t get it ready in time.
Things took a different turn, and it got me thinking about how we’ve come to associate education with western clothing.
There’s something beautiful about celebrating an academic milestone in a way that also reflects who we are and where we come from.

A litre of fuel in Libya costs ₦32, while the minimum wage in the country is $208, which is roughly ₦276,000. In Saudi Arabia, a litre of fuel costs approximately ₦823, while the estimated monthly minimum wage is ₦1.4 million. Norway, another oil-producing country, provides its citizens with numerous benefits funded by the proceeds from its oil revenues. In Nigeria, however, the minimum wage is ₦70,000, while a litre of fuel costs between ₦1,300 and ₦1,900 in some places. That minimum wage amounts to a mere $52, a young chap flipping burgers at McDonald's in the US makes more than a Nigerian bank manager. Anyone earning ₦100,000 a month in Nigeria is still struggling to make ends meet and may be closer to the poverty line than their counterparts in these countries. But does the President care? How does he even sleep at night, knowing that millions of Nigerians are struggling to survive in a country blessed with abundant natural resources?
