Singaporean founders. “We can’t build great startups in SG cos VCs don’t throw money at us like in the US.” “We r unlucky cos gahmen spoon-fed us for 16 years.” “We can’t all-in cos what if I fail? How to face my friends at the next high school reunion?” Singapore has so many advantages for founders. It’s genuinely one of the best places on earth to build. Not THE best, but damn close. You can wait for the stars to align. Or you can just fucking build.

i feel so lucky to be a founder in the us. in singapore, if your startup fails you can go bankrupt. your parents and friends think you’re crazy. here, people just go “oh cool what are you building” and if you fail, you’re more hireable than if you never tried.
