I can just hear my professors talking about “micro environments” with this one picture. We have been very dry lately and LDS (localized dry spot) just started to show up. HOWEVER last night we received 1.3 inches of rain which fired up black algae in the low area of this green.

What a great week of late summer project work! Seeding, new asphalt prep, new concrete pad for a storage barn, and 45 tons of new sand in a bunker that has been an issue for a decade. Getting it done! @HickoryStickGC

Member Guest weekend has arrived at Hickory Stick Golf Club. Prepping the facility for tournament play is always fun! Our agronomy team has knocked it out of the park again!

We celebrate Hickory Stick’s very own Matt Stout as he is part of the exceptional team at Oakmont as a full time Agronomist. Congratulations Matt and we will watch for you this weekend at the US Open!

We might not be mowing greens with it but it’s a great conversation piece! We will gently restore this 1951 Locke reel mower and keep it in the agronomy building for viewing.

In Indy, Memorial Day Weekend means the 500, grilling out and thanking those who protect our freedom! Happy Memorial Day Weekend!
