Here is what property owners need to know: 1️⃣ Compulsory Land Rewilding Under Clause 2(3)(f) and (g), the Bill prioritises restoring ecosystems and conservation. This means: Farmland could be forcibly taken out of use and converted to wild habitats, even if it has been in families for generations. Rural property owners could be ordered to allow government backed projects on their land, regardless of their wishes. Those who resist could face heavy penalties or legal action. 2️⃣ Urban Homeowners Are Not Safe Either The push for energy efficiency means all property owners could face: Mandatory retrofits, including heat pumps, insulation, and other low carbon upgrades that cost tens of thousands of pounds.
