Either the President was lying or Musk was lying, but the decision to slow down satellite speed and access has life or death consequences for Ukraine.
This deserves a full investigation by the Senate. Elon Musk should be compelled to testify before Congress and under oath.
National security decisions should be made in our national security interests, and not based on the personal whim of an unstable executive.

“Elon Musk approached Donald Trump with the idea of slowing down Starlink in Ukraine, The Telegraph can reveal.
The billionaire tech entrepreneur approached the US president with the proposal to introduce speed limits on the system, which hampered Ukraine’s drone defences, according to four sources familiar with the discussions.
One of the sources said Mr Trump “agreed” with Mr Musk’s suggestion, paving the way for the Pentagon to execute the slowdown on Starshield, the military-grade version of the satellite communications system.

EXCLUSIVE: Elon Musk came to Donald Trump with the plan to throttle Ukraine’s use of SpaceX’s Starshield satellite internet network, sources have told the Telegraph.
The tech billionaire made the proposal during the US President’s row with Volodymyr Zelensky over strikes on Russian oil refineries.
‘The reality is that they were both in it,’ a senior source said of Musk’s and Trump’s involvement.
But after a night of carnage in Kyiv caused by the slowdown, Musk was alarmed about the possibility of adverse consumer reaction in Europe.
The SpaceX boss then proceeded to tweet, blaming the US administration, and ultimately, President Trump for authorising the slowdown.
‘He tweeted out that he was innocent and that it was the US administration that did it,’ the source said.

Petr Aven is a Russian billionaire and founder of Alfa Group, which is one of Putin's main financial backers. This man is completely controlled by the Kremlin. Aven is one of Putin's oldest friends. In fact, without Petr's intervention, Putin would have ended up in prison instead of becoming president. After all, Aven covered for Vladimir Putin in 1992, when Putin organized illegal trading in export licenses. Aven also attended a meeting with Putin on February 24, 2022, marking the beginning of the invasion of Ukraine.
‼️ Vadim Moshkovich is a sanctioned Russian agricultural billionaire who was a member of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation. In other words, he officially belonged to Putin's innermost circle. Moshkovich owns Rusagro, Russia's largest agricultural holding company. ‼️
Another interesting figure is Al-Waleed bin Talal Al Saud, who appears on the list of investors no fewer than three times, both personally and through his company, Kingdom Holding Company. This man continues his investment business in Russia and privately supports Hamas in its war against Israel. In his investments in Russia, he regularly cooperates with Rosneft, Lukoil, and Gazprom.
✅ Everyone was wondering how it was possible that Twitter (X) shares were falling, advertisers were terminating contracts, and nobody was doing anything. After all, this was causing direct financial damage to investors.
But everyone overlooked the fact that the investors did not care about profits. Last night, Ukraine’s Defense Forces struck an airfield in the Voronezh region. Four Su-34 aircraft were destroyed and two more Su-34s were hit. The Russians used them to terrorize our people. These very warplanes were ready to launch new attacks on Ukraine and were loaded with aerial bombs.
Our Long Neptune missile was used to strike the target. I thank the warriors of the Ukrainian Navy for their precision!
Our long-range sanctions also reached a site in the Oryol region used to store and launch attack drones. A target was also hit in the Black Sea.
These are our justified responses to all of Russia’s terror against Ukraine. Russia is dragging out the war, so our long-range operations will continue.

Overnight, the Russians used 39 ballistic missiles and more than 120 attack drones and loitering munitions against our energy and critical infrastructure in Kyiv, the Kyiv region, and Kharkiv. A targeted Russian ballistic missile strike specifically against energy infrastructure – the very infrastructure covered by the ceasefire announced by the American President. This morning, the halls of power in Europe need to understand that Musk, Trump and Putin aim for total dissolution of democracy, and the primary target is Europe.
