Eval advice: 1) look over the lang ur dept/campus eval uses: build it into your class vocab; do this 2) do ur own evals mid way—ask what prof/class/*they* cld do better, what’s going well. 3) *remind* them to write about what they *love* in final evals. #WomenInSTEM #trynagrad

First year profs and future first year profs - as evaluation season is coming up, know that almost all of us will get at least one bad student eval. If you're like me, no matter how many good ones you get, that bad one will keep you up at night. My recommendation - [1/2]

1/ Below I'll dissect the original manuscript "Suspending Student Selections to Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society: How One School Is Navigating the Intersection of Equity and Wellness" so folks understand its importance. This is A THREAD. npr.org/sections/health-shot…

A Medical School Tradition Comes Under Fire For Racism

A prominent medical school has pulled back from electing students for a sought-after honor society, saying the award reinforces racial bias in medical education.

Black scholars gave me a framework to understand and love myself, but I have grown to recognize that not every part of my existence needs theorizing. Some things are important because they can’t adequately be captured, they just are.
