Peter Hitchens @ClarkeMicah you might find this interesting, Alastair Campbell challenged. Please share your thoughts if you have any if you decide to watch any of it. youtu.be/I3DoOcNqSXA?si=6lh9…
Thank you Peter Hitchens, but as usual readers of you are aware you’ve mentioned all these things in even more detail many times. I’m curious if you have any thoughts to counter this new talking point that’s often given as a response to the promises arg > xitter.cf/trying0learn/status/20…
Yeah, .@diykitaponia, A reputable unversity archive full of written evidence of pledges clearly given my major Western statesmen is not evidence of anything. I mean, why would it be? ☠️☠️☠️☠️☠️
You could try @marclamonthill @ModernDayDebate , he’s a Middle East studies scholar and also very good at debate and incredibly well read and researched on this issue. See his debates with Mosad Hassan Yousef and Destiny for eg
Hello Mr Bogardus!! @TomasBogardus just watched your debate with Mae Bettcher & think it a fantastic and informative discussion. The channel it was on reminded me of this debate from more than a month ago. I was wondering if you’ve had a chance to see it & might have any thoughts
Replying to @TomasBogardus
Thank you. I’d also like to know what your thoughts are on this recent debate on moral realism vs anti realism between what might be the heavyweight philosophers on both sides, and it got heated at times. Please share your thoughts if you end up watching youtu.be/UWZuHxO4WcA?si=ut-V…
Peter Hitchens has been saying that this is the true attitude of America towards Britain for a while now. @ClarkeMicah
🚨 HOLY CRAP! President Trump is RIPPING IN to the UK and Keir Starmer
"This is NOT the age of Churchill! The UK is VERY uncooperative. That STUPID ISLAND they have. That they GAVE AWAY, and took a hundred year lease, having to do with 'indigenous people' that never even SAW the island before!"
"They RUIN relationships. That country, UK, I love that country, my mother was born there...the UK, with energy and immigration, is HORRIBLE."
.@francisjfoster If there is anyway to make this happen I would please ask that you do. We need the strongest presentations of the two sides of thought in this war. These are the most serious people for that and it would be a great service to everyone if they discuss the conflict
Replying to @ClarkeMicah @DarrellAynsley
Could we please have a debate between Peter Hitchens and Douglas Murray or another supporter of this intervention in Iran? @triggerpod @LauraSmartYT you have had both of them on before so I’m sure it would be possible to facilitate. Robust debate is necessary now more than ever
Mr Peter Hitchens, how can you maintain this while also saying US sought the war in this location because Ukraine is not a member of NATO & so conflict could be confined to Ukrainian territory? If you believe the NATO wouldn’t actually do much because or article 5 loop holes etc?
.@georgykantor Required? Nothing in the NATO treaty *requires* any military action. US Senate would never have agreed to American membership if it did. Check it out. Read the treaty
Hiya, @TomasBogardus have you seen this criticisms of some of your arguments here?
Replying to @christapeterso
saying that informal arguments are invalid in particular means very little because 1) you can always make it valid by adding premises. the relevant ones r often plausibly implicit, and 2) perfectly good arguments can be deductively invalid if they’re just.. not deductive
I’d love to know your thoughts on this convo/debate between two heavyweight realists. Specifically the section at 21:45 on the potential threat from China, cause Im actually not sure if you are aligned more with Mearsheimer or Sachs on that, they disagree youtu.be/uvFtyDy_Bt0?si=gILP…
.@tomtugendhat Honestly, Tom, what knowledge or experience qualify you to issue these smears against a person who knows so much more than you about the subject that it's embarrassing to watch? Debate by all means. But abuse of this kind is just unfit for use in a free country.
Yes, but would you also agree in this case Mr Peter Hitchens, that Russia *provoked* Georgia? Just as you have many times pointed out that France, having been provoked by Bismarck, attacked Prussia in 1870, Prussia then defeated France, as it had always intended to do. Same here?
.@jordan54941136 Alas for your thesis, Georgia attacked Russia (see the EU's Tagiavini report), described here reuters.com/article/world/ge…. In 13 years of non-NATO membership the three Baltic states were not attacked by Russia .Nor was Finland. Just saying.
Mr Peter Hitchens @ClarkeMicah . Around 25:41, Douglas Murray @DouglasKMurray is asked about the “realist” perspective and a minute or so later Mr Murray attempts to steelman and engage with what he sees as this realist perspective. Any thoughts? youtu.be/HvI42TyE5Ww?si=tFTO…
.@konstantinkisin Your patronising tone is uncalled-for and unresponsive. Nor have you shown yourself to be entitled to patronise me. Of course .@douglaskmurray didn’t directly address my position. He prefers to pretend that all opponents of the war are Trumpoid. That’s my point.
Peter Hitchens and Douglas Murray on Iraq, Iran, Saudi, our role in the disaster in Syria etc youtu.be/JqcXIFClgyI?si=w-1l…
Hello @OppyGraham , I remember you mentioned once that research phase of your forthcoming book on debate and argumentation would run till the end of 2024. Could I ask how the writing is going and when we might see the book published?
Could I ask for your thoughts Peter Hitchens on this apparent restoration of the death penalty with strict enforcement through executive order by Donald Trump’s administration? @ClarkeMicah whitehouse.gov/presidential-…
Peter Hitchens .@ClarkeMicah has warned of this kind of thing…
a London Thief on a moped just stole one of the fan’s phone that was following Stable Ronaldo live on stream xitter.cf/leg0guy/status/1873035…
Mr Peter Hitchens, @ClarkeMicah , this has recently gone viral and I think it encapsulates the sentiment alot of the people in support of continuing the war effort have. I’ve also seen many high profile Ukraine accounts parroting it as a western person who understands. Thoughts?
Why not do something similar with Destiny and @jamesfishback from the same jubilee episode who is perfectly willing and might be a better match too? His DMs are open @JakeNewfield
I loved moderating this debate between @TheOmniLiberal and Luke Melkesian from Jubillee:
youtube.com/watch?v=YOZHyY8_…
.@JakeNewfield Marc Lamont Hill willing to have another debate with Destiny. I really think these two having a conversation would be the best of both sides in terms of debating ability combined with depth of knowledge. Usually it’s just one or the other
That would be great. It’s a bit weird, though, to offer Destiny as a more appropriate person to debate when I’ve already debated him. We debated for a couple hours, and discussed a wide range of things, so I think it’s inaccurate to say we only focused on “narrow” aspects of the issue. But I’m happy to debate him again. He has an open invitation.
