we're growing fast, join our team! hiring engineers, salespeople, and support
We've grown 3x since April, crossed X M in ARR, and are hiring more folks to join our small lean team The only requirement for us is you are AI native, can spend more than $20k a month in tokens, and can figure things out in an extremely fast paced environment We don't have a PM, we don't have issues, tickets, etc., we don't have a CRM. We operate on Slack and we operate with super high context Engineering: you have experience building recommendation systems, bidding platforms Sales: you have experience selling into enterprises while balancing super short sales cycles Support: you have experience doing support with explicit SLAs and response time thresholds You will have meaningful equity ownership, and we will work together to scale Lapis from X M ARR to XX M ARR

We hit out second $1M revenue month at Lapis, some thoughts on sales / gtm today: - You can either expand more into one of our existing customers or get more customers. There's no one fixed way to do this but our first 1M revenue month we had a ton of new customers. In our more recent one, we expanded more into our current customers. Both are hard (getting money is always hard) but expansion is ever so slightly easier - Do not use AI generated sales "scripts". We buy a lot of tools too and it is quite obvious when someone wastes time by following a script. The old script based sales paradigm is over. Learn how to sell on the fly, talk about value. - The number of buyers for enterprise AI tools is larger than ever before. Competition, funding, etc. literally does not matter. Build a good enough tool and you can sell to buyers just fine. - A lot of enterprises are having some sort of existential crisis (dependent on team) over how they are going to level up using AI tooling. Instead of a sales motion around replacing things, talk about how you can assist them with your fancy new AI tools and make their work better. - Speed is everything. Buyer can buy on one call if you do enough prep. What you put in is what you get out. If you're lazily taking calls, customers will lazily follow you around. Be proactive and do a lot of research before the call so the prospect doesn't feel like you're wasting their time

Get started with ChatGPT Ads at trylapis dot com
ChatGPT Ads are doing insanely well and happy to get a first row seat through our customers at Lapis Many marketers are still stuck in the Google / Meta ads world where people are aimlessly scrolling and one out of a hundred ads is clicked on. But these ads are pointless, they are just noise in the whole experience ChatGPT Ads on the other hand is different because it serves you ads that you genuinely would like or products you would use. Not all the time (since its super new) but good enough that its a must-have channel for anyone who's looking to be positioned for the future Lots of cos still sleeping on it

Many are saying, check us out. trylapis dot com.
Not joking when I say we're quantitatively 10x better when it comes to paid ads, and you can see how much in little under a week The performance delta from using high performance agents to perform old legacy functions is far too big to even measure properly

We're hiring, come join us!
We've been growing super fast at Lapis and have more inbound than we can reliably handle, and are hiring for two very important roles. These will be the first external hires we've made since our founding days, and we'd love to work with people who want to work in a super small team where they can own a lot of things at once without feeling overwhelmed. If you want to be a founder a couple years down the line and learn at a fast growing startup, or are from a somewhat non-tech background and have skills that can be easily applied to tech, this would be a great fit for you. - Sales: someone who has preferably sold software before and is comfortable demo'ing a technical product to a non technical audience. - Support: someone who understands the customer journey really well and can own customer feedback We operate fully on Slack, we don't do tickets, and we don't do Linear issues. What needs to be fixed will be fixed the same day and we operate with a very high degree of urgency since we're dealing with large enterprise clients (many household names people will be familiar with). You can be located anywhere for this role, as long as you can work full Pacific Time hours, from 10am to 10pm. In practice, this means working 8-10 hours every day. We care much more about making a great product that makes our customers happy than about performative work. Compensation: Sales: 220k OTE Support: 120k If this interests you, please DM me with a resume / website / something that shows the person you are and the work you do

A lot of people joking about this but this is how the small business economy fundamentally runs outside of X and tech jobs People need to advertise their value prop and get customers without a ton of free floating debt / venture money. Posters like this are one of the most effective ways to do so

YC Demo Day is tomorrow and have had some time to reflect on our progress. We hit 500k ARR in 2 months, 4 awesome team members. YC forces you to only care about two things: product and customers. Hard to find this degree of focus anywhere else outside of YC. Thankfully we don't need to worry about payroll or ops or any of that, Warp is by far the best payroll provider out there.
WARP SPEED: EPISODE 5 - starring Varunram Ganesh, Founder of Lapis @varunram The next generation of 20 year olds are going to default to LLMs for search. Varun is building @TryLapis into the most accurate AI search analytics platform. They are part of @ycombinator F25 - 1 day away from demo day with a countdown clock on his desk. The insight: people are already defaulting to ChatGPT over Google. As time goes on, more leveraged decisions get made through LLMs, not search engines. "So many people are searching on Google, they're going to be searching on ChatGPT. Why aren't people knowing where they are on ChatGPT?" Lapis tells you exactly what a human will search for your website to show up in AI. And unlike Google, it's not about ranking positions - LLMs reason differently. On Warp: "I don't even think about payroll. Which is just to say Warp is such a good product that I just don't think about it. No spam emails. No upsells. It's just so smooth." In this conversation: (0:00) - Shift from Google-style search to LLMs: “More leveraged decisions are now made through the LLM.” (0:15) - What Lapis does: the most accurate AI search analytics platform. (1:15) - YC intensity: six weeks from Demo Day, rapid feedback loops, constant customer conversations. (2:00) - “The hardest part of running a startup is the most boring stuff.” (2:41) - How AI search differs from Google search. (3:23) - Building a company through trust. (3:51) - “Every founder said, ‘Check out @joinwarp - a genuinely friendly solution. (4:02) - Big providers needed six weeks just to get set up. (4:20) - Texted Ayush and got set up in 15 minutes. (4:25) - Warp is so smooth you don’t think about payroll — no spam emails, no upsells, just seamless.

"why did you hire 12 heads of growth?"
Scaling so fast we spent half of what we spent the whole of last month on OpenAI API credits in the first 4 days this month. Crazy times.
