No wonder @MarkJCarney moved Brookfield out. Canada is going to be at the bottom for at least 4 decades, and by a huge margin. Our government is using GDP to cover up the fact that it has destroyed us.

From my direct personal experience being involved in some of those discussions I can confirm this is correct. Forcing the signing of NDAs to see draft legislation, and then disregarding all commentary and input from industry professionals was the de facto "consultation" practice from Eby and team.

I have it on good authority from several insiders in several BC industries that the NDP government rode roughshod over them despite decades of experience in their fields. This behaviour was directly responsible for some of the increases in food costs as well as contributing to the usual NDP destruction of businesses which don't receive money from our taxes. There are going to be many NDP insider tears shed over the next year, largely disguised as some kind of sympathy for working people. These will be lies. There should be no sympathy for any active NDP member - the havoc their ignorant and unprincipled approach caused this province cannot be overstated.

if BC is going to get its economy truly rolling, the top 3 priorities are 1) Treaties with First Nations 2) Review and revamp of everything to do with supply chains 3) Establishing BC's true place as Canada's most important province in the 21st century. Ontario and Quebec were relevant only when Europe was relevant and like Europe they have required ever increasing amounts of tax dollars to support the illusion that they are still relevant. And then the fourth most important thing is to purge the business sector of political operatives and appointees.

It is amazing watching this entire group of political fools from all sides of the spectrum acting like they didn't all just get stomped. STOMPED. It's been a looooong time since I was proud of my city, province or country and I am SO proud to be British Columbian tonight.
Congratulations to the BC Conservatives on their projected majority win. The BC Liberals are back. This time wearing Conservative blue. Here’s hoping you hold true to at least some of your conservative roots. Time will tell. Your first decisions will tell us plenty. Which far-left NDP policy will you repeal FIRST? You have a majority. No excuses.

25% or more of the current BC NDP caucus will be gone within 2 years. You watch. These are people who cannot function in an environment where they don't have the power to bully people into doing things the wrong way.

in May, I was thinking it would be better if the NDP kept ruining the province than having Kerry Lynne Findlay and her band of losers which ran from just ignorant to outright racist running the province. Then people within the BC Conservative Party made their own stand against that kind of nonsense and now there is no KLF<, no One BC, no NDP government, no David Eby, and a decisive Conservative majority which cannot be ruled by the gas coming from the far right and the far left. This is a government which might actually have the people in it to put BC in its rightful place within the country - in the 21st century we are the province where Canada begins.

Wow, this speech is showing that the real Emily Loewen of the @BCGreens is a moron.

The BC Conservatives will need to be as ruthless now as they were with the unsavoury elements in their own party. The way forward is aggressive optimism and laying out in no uncertain terms that BC is where the Canada of the 21st century begins.
No, the NDP will still have near-total institutional control in BC, and will spend 4 years fighting the Conservatives to keep it. The Conservatives will have to be ruthless in routing them out if they want to implement their ideas. And if they don't, their policies will fail.

This is the most important part of the election tonight. From @KerryLynneFindl to @Dallas_Brodie the right wing has absolutely rejected the politics of hate. Media which stumps for those elements on the far right such as @cosminDZS and @TheRealKeean need to be similarly shown the door, as they paint the entire right wing as something it is not which is detrimental to all juridisctions in this country.

Just a reminder about how dumb so many of these people with followings are. Constantly wrong about some of the most obvious political things.
Right wing across the board have started to cry before anything happens. It's so embarrassing. Of course Eby should call an election, anyone who has actually been following BC politics should know that would be completely in character for him, and it will still be a tight race. These crybaby conservatives are the worst.

Sad news today. After 5 years of medical training, one of my mates has been struck off due to a minor discretion. He slept with one of his patients and can no longer do the job he loves. What a waste of time and money. Genuinely a great guy and a brilliant vet

"Harbinger of things to come" That would mean he thinks the NDP are out tomorrow. Can't cope with the fact that Dictator Dave's election call was the equivalent of a European dictator invading Russia.
This is a harbinger of things to come – not only is BC Conservative Party interim leader Lorne Doerkson avoiding media on election night, ⚠️ but some of his candidates are saying they won’t be available at all to comment! 😳#bcpoli #vanpoli

Wow, he doesn't realize how desperate this sounds and what that says. Worst premier in BC history who tried to give himself dictator powers made some pretty stupid mistakes, as most power mad politicians do.
This election is bigger than any one issue, including the election timing. I’ve talked with a lot of British Columbians who are frustrated, and I hear that. What I hope you take with you into the ballot box is an important question: who is going to best protect my family in this time?

Most men raising the issue of “obligation sex” aren’t primarily arguing that a wife must have sex whenever her husband wants it, regardless of her desire. They’re pointing out a double standard in how marital duties are treated. Husbands are routinely expected to fulfill their responsibilities—providing, protecting, emotional support, household labor, and the rest—without the option to opt out simply because they “don’t feel like it” that day. These duties are treated as ongoing obligations within the marriage. Yet when it comes to sexual intimacy, the conversation often shifts: a wife’s lack of desire or consent in the moment is treated as absolute and sufficient grounds to withhold it indefinitely, with little reciprocal expectation. If consent is the governing principle that can suspend one core marital contribution, consistency requires asking why the same principle doesn’t equally allow a husband to suspend the contributions expected of him. The underlying point is about reciprocity. If sex is no longer framed as a mutual marital duty but solely as something requiring ongoing, enthusiastic consent from one party, then the framework should apply symmetrically to the other party’s duties as well. Otherwise, consent functions as a one-way veto rather than a shared standard.

I know exactly 5 Muslims, and I rate all 5 amongst the best people I've ever met. But I dont give a shit about what Muslim organizations say and why are there 28 such in this province? – at Fraser Valley G, British Columbia

She was a nurse, never believe a canadian nurse when they claim to be struggling financially. She chose to throw that career away because she is nasty. – at Fraser Valley G, British Columbia
Unbelievable. I’ve struggled financially as a single mom, spending every penny of my left over income, and sometimes savings, to afford daycare/after school care. And yet @Dave_Eby, with his premier salary and doctor wife, is getting it for $10/day. This makes my blood boil.
