God is not asking permission to reign.
He is announcing the certainty of His supremacy.
His throne is not vacant.
Sardis lived on rosters and registers. Being removed was great shame.
Jesus says: "I will not blot out his name from the Book of Life; but I will confess his name before My Father and before His angels" (Revelation 3:5).
Earth's reputations fade. Christ's recognition endures.
Gunmen opened fire on a funeral at St. George's Greek Orthodox Church in Karak, Jordan. Nine Christians killed.
They came to bury their dead and were buried beside them.
"I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live" (John 11:25).
There's only one head of the church of Jesus Christ, and it's no pastor, and it's no priest, and it is not even the pope.
Jesus Christ Himself is the head of His church.
"And He is the head of the body, the church" (Colossians 1:18).
Outward activity does not equal inward productivity.
Just because there's motion on the outside does not mean there's life on the inside.
Jesus pierces through the noise.

Our security is not in our holding on to Him, but in His holding on to us.

If we’re walking with the Lamb, we can’t be speaking like a snake. What we say matters. Think twice before you speak, because your words carry weight.

Discernment: when your eyesight comes into alignment with God's sight. That's what produces insight.
They don't let headlines or culture wars write the narrative. They look to the Book. What does God say?
Jesus exposes us not to shame us but to save us. He offers gold refined in fire, white garments, and eyes that finally see.
Close the gap. Whatever is between you and Jesus, would you surrender it?
"You say, 'I am rich'... but you are wretched, miserable, poor, blind, and naked." Revelation 3:17
Draw a line from you say to you are. That gap is where this church lived, and where many of us do.
"I know your works, that you are neither cold nor hot... I will vomit you out of My mouth." Revelation 3:15-16
Lukewarm doesn't mean lazy. It means worldly: one foot in the Word and one foot in the world.
They also had a water problem. Hot springs to the north, cold streams to the east. By the time the water arrived by aqueduct, it was lukewarm.
Neither healing like hot water nor refreshing like cold. Jesus uses their own water against them.
After an earthquake in AD 60, Rome offered aid. Laodicea said no: we will rebuild from our own purse.
The city's attitude became the church's attitude: I am rich, I need nothing.
Laodicea was the banking capital of Asia Minor, a fashion center famous for its black wool, and home to a medical school known for an eye salve.
Wealthy. Polished. Self-sufficient.
Laodicea is the church that makes Jesus sick. And it is the most comfortable church in Revelation.
Here's what the seventh letter exposes in us. A thread:
The modern parallel of Balaamism is progressivism, where tolerance is disguised as truth.
Tolerance is the satanic counterfeit of repentance.
"Repent, or else I will come to you quickly and will fight against them with the sword of My mouth" (Revelation 2:16).
You can believe the Bible and still allow the world to interpret the way you see Scripture.
Many sincere Christians have been sincerely deceived.
So many people are for all, against Jesus Christ.
Better to be against all for Christ than with all against Christ.
"If the world hates you, you know that it hated Me before it hated you" (John 15:18).
A church that defends doctrine but forgets devotion is halfway to death.
It is not enough to be clear about Christ. We must also be close to Christ.
"Nevertheless I have this against you, that you have left your first love" (Revelation 2:4).
