Why is it whenever people talk about “NATO expansion” they all leave out the fact that every new NATO country asked to join because they were afraid Russia would invade them.
Saying NATO expansion is just a reaction completely ignores how empires actually operate. The US has spent decades expanding its military footprint up to Russia's border to maintain a unipolar world. You can’t analyse global power structures by only looking at one side. You can oppose Putin’s government while still acknowledging that the US and NATO actively manufactured the security crisis that led us here today.
Definitely not because they have the foresight to know that since the west is suicidally committed to green energy and since oil isn’t limitless they need to diversify their income as to maintain their quality of life for it’s citizens that they’ve provided thanks to oil sales
