The strongest proof of impact? When partners choose to scale up—voluntarily. 🌱 Meet our regen implementation champion Kaustav from Assam. Since launching in 2024, HUL’s Tea Regenerative Agriculture Program has seen incredible momentum. Fast forward to 2026: over 50% of the 150 enrolled - large tea estates, have independently expanded their regenerative farming areas. The catalyst driving this shift is the Novcom Process—a simple, cost-effective composting technology that is redefining on-farm scalability. Why estate managers are taking ownership and scaling it so rapidly: ⏱️ Speed: Transforms local crop residue and manure into mature, microflora-rich compost in just 3 weeks. 🏗️ Accessible: Zero infrastructure required. 👥 Efficient: Requires only 1/3 of the manpower. 💰 Cost-Effective: Operates at 1/3 the cost of traditional vermicompost. We aren't just seeing technology adoption; we are seeing true ownership. When sustainable solutions are made practical and accessible, real change happens. That is how regenerative agriculture takes root and grows at scale. 🌍☕ What’s the most innovative sustainable farming practice you’ve seen recently? Let us know in the comments! 👇 #trustea #Unilever #RegenerativeAgriculture #Sustainability #TeaIndustry #SustainableFarming #Innovation #FutureOfFarming

🕊️ Safe skies start with sustainable landscapes. On World Migratory Bird Day, we are reminded that migratory birds don't just need safe skies but safe stopovers as well. They rely on chemical-safe ecosystems along their flyways to rest, feed, and nest. Tea plantations in India often overlap with vital bird migration corridors. Through the trustea code, sustainable tea production turns agricultural lands into safe harbors for avian life by mandating strict biodiversity and environmental standards: 🌳 Native Canopy & Afforestation: Zero conversion of natural ecosystems, alongside mandates to maintain and plant native shade trees to preserve avian habitats. 🛡️ Vegetative Buffer Zones: Mandatory natural green barriers between crop fields and ecosystems to prevent fertilizer and pesticide drift into surrounding wild areas. 💧 Water Body Protection: Safe management of sub-soil water tables and surface streams to protect clean aquatic food sources and stopover sites. 🦅 Wildlife Corridors & Protection: Compliance with wildlife protection laws, zero-tolerance for hunting or habitat disturbance, and proactive wildlife conflict management. Sustainability isn't just about the leaf in the cup—it’s about preserving the natural canopy above it. ☕🍃 #WorldMigratoryBirdDay #trustea #SustainableTea #BiodiversityConservation #RegenerativeAgriculture #WildlifeProtection #SupplyChainSustainability

Regenerative agriculture doesn’t come with a master recipe. 🍃 What works for one small tea grower might completely fail for another. Different soils. Different microclimates. Different daily challenges. That’s why Hindustan Unilever Limited’s TeaNext program takes a strictly farm-first approach. Instead of forcing rigid sustainability templates, TeaNext adapts regenerative practices to what each individual farm actually needs. From the ground up, that means: 🔹 Soil Health: Conducting soil analysis and applying targeted amendments 🔹 Canopy & Ecosystems: Tailoring shade management and cover crops 🔹 Resource Efficiency: Implementing custom moisture conservation techniques The operating principle is simple: Test ➔ Adapt ➔ Adopt. True agricultural regeneration doesn't start with a standard playbook—it starts with understanding the ground beneath our feet and building the right pathway for every grower. #RegenerativeAgriculture #Sustainability #trustea #Unilever #TeaNext #SmallTeaGrower #SustainableFarming #SupplyChainImpact

🦇The Unsung Protectors of Tea Estates: Nature’s Night Shift Bats are one of the most effective, zero-cost biological pest control allies in tea cultivation. While the estate sleeps, insectivorous bats patrol the canopy, preying on nocturnal insects, especially moths of chewing pests, that threaten crop yields and leaf quality. Their high metabolic rate allows a single Indian Pipistrelle consumes up to 100% of its body weight in insects every night; eating roughly 3,000 to 5,000 small insects nightly. Core Benefits to Tea Cultivation: Targeted Pest Reduction: A single bat can consume thousands of insects each night, targeting major tea pests like the tea mosquito bug (Helopeltis), loopers, armyworms, and adult moths before they lay eggs. Lower Input Costs: natural pest suppression reduces reliance on expensive synthetic insecticides, directly cutting operational costs. Support Biodiversity: Minimizing chemical sprays preserves natural soil biology, prevents chemical runoff into waterways, and helps estates meet stringent pesticide residue limits while enhancing biodiversity. 24/7 Canopy Protection: Bats fill the critical night-time gap when diurnal birds are roosting, providing round-the-clock biological defense against active night-time feeders. The Bottom Line: Protecting native bat populations—by retaining mature shade trees or installing bat roosting boxes—is a low-cost, high-yield investment in healthy tea bushes and eco-friendly plantation management. #trustea #SustainableAgriculture #Biodiversity #TeaPlantation #EcologicalBalance #NaturalPestControl #FaunaInTeaEstates #bats

Can small, practical changes on a tea farm improve both land health and a farmer’s bottom line? Through the TeaNext Program—funded by Hindustan Unilever Limited (HUL) and implemented by trustea—small tea growers are proving that sustainable agriculture doesn't need to be complex or expensive to deliver powerful results. By shifting toward practical, regenerative farming techniques, growers are adopting high-impact practices that deliver immediate value: 🌱 Precision Tipping – Optimizing bush architecture and plucking tables for healthier growth. 🌾 Border Grasses – Securing topsoil to significantly reduce erosion during heavy rains. 🐛 Bio-Concoctions – Implementing natural pest management to lower reliance on synthetic chemicals. 🐄 Cow-Dung Slurry – Enhancing plant nutrition organically. The Economic & Environmental Impact: These simple interventions do more than protect the environment—they improve nutrient cycling, produce stronger tea bushes, and cut down expensive external input costs. When a farming practice is affordable, easy to implement, and yields visible farm-level benefits, adoption scales naturally through peer-to-peer learning across growing communities. That is the ultimate goal of TeaNext: healthier farms, financially resilient growers, and a sustainable future for smallholder tea. 💬 How can low-cost, grower-led innovations better accelerate sustainable farming globally? Let’s discuss in the comments. #trustea #TeaNext #Unilever #SustainableAgriculture #Smallteagrowers #RegenerativeAgriculture #TeaIndustry #SupplyChainSustainability

For small tea growers, agricultural knowledge only matters when it drives real results in the field. 🍃 That is the driving force behind TeaNext—an initiative funded by HUL and implemented by trustea. Instead of traditional top-down instruction, we are putting smallholder farmers at the center of the learning process through a hands-on, community-driven approach. By shifting the focus from classrooms to the field, we are empowering growers through: 🤝 Peer-to-Peer Mentorship: Leveraging lead farmers and cluster-level training to share localized, actionable insights. 🪧 Active Demonstration Hubs: Moving beyond theory with hands-on field demonstrations that show exactly what works on the ground. 👩‍💻 Climate-Smart Agronomy: Equipping growers with practical experience in regenerative agriculture, precision plucking, soil health management, and Integrated Pest Management (IPM). Farmers aren't just being told what to do—they are seeing the impact firsthand, learning from fellow growers, and adapting these proven practices to their own farms. Because the most sustainable change isn't knowledge delivered to farmers. It is knowledge built with them, and carried forward by them. #trustea #TeaNext #Unilever #SustainableAgriculture #Smallteagrowers #RegenerativeAgriculture #TeaIndustry #SupplyChainSustainability

Healthy soil isn’t just dirt—it’s alive! 🌱 Through trustea's Tea Regenerative Agriculture program, field officers like Manash— our Regenerative Agriculture Implementation Champion, are turning on-site compost practices into standardized, scalable action for driving soil restoration across tea estates . At the heart of this transformation are nature’s ultimate soil engineers: Earthworms 🪱 Vermicompost does not simply add earthworms to the soil. It improves the soil environment so that existing earthworms can survive, feed and reproduce more successfully. Here is how vermicompost is helping restore the tea ecosystems : 💦Aeration & Moisture Lock: As earthworms tunnel through the ground, they break up compact soil to deliver oxygen directly to plant roots, prevent runoff, and retain moisture. ✨Nutrient Enrichment: Earthworm castings supercharge the soil with essential nutrients—Nitrogen (N), Phosphorus (P), and Potassium (K). 🌱Microbial Support: Applying 1 Metric Ton of compost per hectare each year helps balance soil pH and nourish the microbial life essential for earthworms and tea plants to thrive. Nurturing living soil builds agricultural resilience for generations to come. The future is Regenerative Agriculture! 🌍🍃 #RegenerativeAgriculture #SustainableFarming #SoilHealth #trustea #Unilever #TeaIndustry #compost #Earthworms
