Homelessness affects people of all age groups, genders, and ethnicities. The rate of Homelessness in members of the LGBTQ2+ youth is not something to turn your back on, with 25-40% of homeless youth identifying as LGBTQ2+.

Poverty & homelessness are not choices.
In fact, none of the people I have ever cared for wanted to be in poverty or experience homelessness.
These constructs are the result of oppressive policies, discrimination and an overall lack of compassion.
We need to learn from Finland.

Homelessness in Finland is in decline. They provide a small apartment & counselling w/ no preconditions. 4/ 5 people make their way back into a stable life. & All this is cheaper than accepting homelessness: bit.ly/38Bw7Po

Something Truro should be proud of is all the resources we currently have for women facing homelessness or escaping domestic violence. However the work never ends, and the resources are never enough.
