🚨A former Idaho Republican candidate has been sentenced to prison for a minimum of 3 years after preying on a child. Ryan Dewayne Jenks, 46, of Boise pleaded guilty to felony lewd conduct with a minor under 16. Under the Idaho legal statue, that charge amounts to s*xual contact/child m*lestation. A judge sentenced him to a minimum of 3 years and a maximum of 20 years behind bars. Translation: he’s eligible for parole after just 3 years. Before he was a convicted child predator, Jenks ran for the Idaho House of Representatives in 2014 as the Republican nominee for District 18, Position A. He lost that race to Democrat Ilana Rubel. This is the same Republican Party that spent years obsessing over drag queens and library books, warning parents about imaginary threats to children at every school board meeting from Boise to Bangor. Meanwhile, one of their own candidates for public office was abusing an actual child. Jenks isn’t the first “family values” Republican to get caught hurting the kids he claimed to be protecting, and he certainly won’t be the last. The party keeps running the same playbook: manufacture outrage over invented threats to children while quietly producing real predators from within its own candidate pool.
