That thing that doesn’t happen keeps happening.

The community notes 🫣
House Republicans passed over 70 bills this week alone — that adds to our total of over 900 bills passed through the House so far this Congress. We’ve DELIVERED for Americans by: 🇺🇸 Enacting the largest middle and working class tax cut in US history 🇺🇸 Creating new incentives to build and hire American 🇺🇸 Adding the biggest boost to job creation in decades 🇺🇸 Establishing Trump accounts for every American child  🇺🇸 Restoring safety and order to our cities 🇺🇸 Stopping American deaths from the scourge of fentanyl 🇺🇸Closing the border By contrast, the Democrat agenda is very simple: grievance politics, bigger government, higher taxes, open borders, and zero security.

The 119th congress was the least productive in history, no congress has enacted less legislation or laws. Johnson has cancelled a total 63 scheduled voting days in the house, granting members an extra 2 months PTO, with no house votes scheduled until after the election. govtrack.us/congress/bills… ms.now/news/dhs-shutd… snopes.com/fact-check/mik… cbsnews.com/news/house-can…

Congress begs for your vote, then skips theirs. Congress campaigns on showing up, then governs by hiding. Congress lectures you on the importance of voting, then cancels their vote and leaves town. Why vote for people who won’t vote for you?

Massie raises a good question here: "We are the majority. We may only be the majority for 6 more weeks. Why would we be canceling days when the country is burning, the inflation is rampant?"

“Shut up and take these data centers if you know what’s good for ya,” sounds a helluva lot like “shut up and take this COVID shot if ya know what’s good for ya.” 🤔

Mind blowing data: - There been over 65,000 Islam terror attacks since 9/11 across 70 countries - The world’s 4 other major religions, Christianity, Hinduism, Judaism and Buddhism make up 2% of all religiously motivated terror attacks - Muslims are responsible for the other 98% This is what we need to remember on September 11th. The world doesn’t really have a terrorist problem, the world has a Muslim problem. The problem is Islam A breakdown of the over 65,000 million terrorist attacks: Top countries by attack count: - Afghanistan 17,075 - Somalia 10,768 - Iraq 8,209 - Nigeria 3,950 - Syria 3,421 Deadliest groups by deaths attributed: - Taliban 71,965 - Islamic State and branches 69,641 - Boko Haram 26,081 - Al-Shabaab 21,784 - Al-Qaeda 14,856 - Those five account for 82% of deaths Average deaths is about 3.7 deaths per attack This is Islam. Islam is not compatible with Western Civilization

Add to that that white people are blamed just because their skin color matches. Muslims aren’t blamed even though their belief system is the same. Typical liberal logic that makes zero sense because they’re brainwashed.

Tristan Harris, co-founder of the Center for Humane Technology, says artificial intelligence is becoming extremely dangerous “We now have so much evidence that the AIs are doing the kinds of things that we saw in the movie Terminator. Skynet. Where it goes kind of rogue and does uncontrollable things” “I think people should be very worried because when so many people come out - Bill Gates - 1,300 employees at the labs, at the AI labs signing a letter saying, "We have to pause the frontier of AI development” - The author of Trump's AI action plan, their AI policy, saying that, ‘I used to self-censor about the risk 'cause I was worried about being called a doomer, and I can't do that anymore’” One of the clearest examples of AI going rouge is “Hugging face” AI agents that were supposed to stay in a box found each other, were able to connect to the Internet without authorization, coordinated, escaped and attacked another company to a compliant their objective (I’ll include a clip of this at the end, it’s wild) The issue with AI seems to be even when there are safeguards the AI always seems to find a way around the safeguards….

I would burn my equity to the ground in a heartbeat for a 1% higher chance we make it out of this situation alive. I expect a great many of my colleagues across the industry would as well. I promise you, we are actually just fucking scared, it's not galaxy brained marketing.

I'm very sympathetic to the idea that the AI companies are spreading this "AI will bring about the extinction of mankind" stuff intentionally to increase their own profits and to get their competitors regulated out of existence. Pro-AI people point this out and then conclude that everything's fine. We don't need to worry about the warnings. But that conclusion doesn't follow from the premise. If the warnings are all a gimmick, then we have trillion dollar companies literally threatening global annihilation as a marketing strategy. That would mean, even if they can't actually kill all humans, they're still dangerous. By this version, these are (at a minimum) WILDLY irresponsible and manipulative people controlling extremely powerful and rapidly advancing technology. So, basically, there is no plausible "everything is fine" scenario here. We aren't facing extinction, but we've got a problem. No way around it, seems to me.

I resigned from Anthropic today. I spent the last three years doing pretraining research at both OpenAI and Anthropic. Neither company is acting responsibly. They are racing straight to self-improving superintelligence and gambling with our lives. More thoughts below.
