CodNext is always a fun experience; the venues, events, creators, chatting with devs, working with the creative reps,..... and this year was no different BUT inevitably everything comes down to the point of being there, which is to share gameplay/news about Call of Duty, while also giving impressions. Going into it, I expect BO7 to be received positively for both MP/Zombies, since I played them early (Still concerned with EOMM fatigue). Warzone on the otherhand, did not manage to hit the mark in the same way. Have made multiple videos on the lack of information going into this event and was wary of the direction for multiple reasons. (Prolonged staleness, cheaters, trios missing, lack of meta diversity from season to season,...) From my overall perspective its cool we get a new resurgence map, but lack of major big map changes until 2026, like 7 months a aways sounds insane. Avalon finally coming, but not at all as expected, with a blackout inspired mode, with zero clips/trailers to generate hype. With players left feeding off the nostalgia/hype from the 1st Blackout. Essentially asking for us to trust that it will be good. Even though the warzone community doesnt trust warzone. One of the best things talked about generated almost no hype, which was Ravens ability to have full control of the weapons, their attachments and meta flexibility with both create a class and floor loot to combat staleness, and the removal tactical sprint which I have always wanted in WZ since MW2019, but don't commit to the wall jump with everything else they changed for the better. This doesn't even dive into the lack of trust in the anti cheat which even if it was perfect would take at least a year to change sentiment imo. Also, its a little odd when the stream schedule is so rigid that I can't show off the new map for as long as my audience wants, have to switch to Verdansk and the chat spams "why are you playing Verdansk" Same for other creators, nearly every MP person said their views dropped when switching to Zombies, and then zombies not getting more than what felt like 20 min to play. Idk Planning a more thorough video in the next day or so about my thoughts for Warzone specifically, but its overall looking rough at the moment.
