McKenna Wendel was only 14 years old. She was reported missing from Sioux Falls, South Dakota, on March 13, 2026. That is all it took for a missing child case to become a death investigation. Today, federal authorities announced indictments against two men in connection with McKenna’s death. According to prosecutors, 51-year-old Mark Milk, McKenna’s uncle, has been charged with offenses that include possession with intent to distribute a controlled substance resulting in death and transporting a minor with intent to engage in criminal sexual activity. A second man, 38-year-old Jon Rogness, has been charged with conspiracy and accessory after the fact. The charges stem from a lengthy investigation involving authorities in South Dakota, Iowa, and Minnesota. Prosecutors have stated that the location where McKenna was found is not believed to be where she died. As the case moves through the court system, it is important to remember that these are allegations and the defendants are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court. She was last seen around 11:00 to 11:30 PM on Saturday night at her home in Old Timers town camp. When she was checked on at approximately 1:35 AM Sunday morning, she was gone. NT Police are conducting a wide-scale search in and around Old Timers town camp. Police say they believe Sharon has been abducted and are gravely concerned for her whereabouts. Police are searching for 47-year-old Jefferson Lewis in connection with Sharon’s disappearance. Police say Jefferson had recently been released from prison and was believed to be in the area around the time Sharon went missing.
