A typical 8 deck blackjack game stands at a .36 house edge or HE. Perfect Basic Strategy (PBS) can cut that in half. Yes, you will be playing at an appropriate -.18 disadvantage with PBS. Implement true count advantage play and you can play at +1-2% edge long term.

Don’t increase your bets because you lost three hands in a row. That’s the opposite of a true count. Trust the math, trust yourself!

The pattern is easy: Count first. Bet second. Leave third. Reflect and evaluate fourth.

Continuous Shuffle Machines are not casinos cheating. Casinos want rounds per hour. These machines shuffle after approximately a deck is dealt. Stay away from these as you have no edge.

When reviewing your play, whether you gained or lost units, ask yourself if you played well. Making the correct decisions whilst dealing with the variance can be challenging. You can always get better.

Look at the $10 stretch first. Count is negative or flat. Small bets. Then the count climbs: +6, +8, +10. Bets go 20 → 30 → 50 → 60. That’s not “I got hot.” That’s true count turning into a spread. Blackjacks and doubles in the plus counts are where the money is. The min-bet stretch is just surviving until the shoe gets rich.

Insurance, surrender, and Basic Strategy deviations are TC decisions. TC +3 is TC +3 in 6D or 8D. The mistake is betting or deviating off the running count because “the shoe feels good.” You bet with the TRUE COUNT ONLY.

If you can’t convert RC to TC with a decent deck estimate, you are guessing in both games. You’re just guessing worse in the 8 deck games.

True count is the running count divided by the number of decks left, including behind the cut card. Ex: Running count is +10 with 3 decks left. Your TC is +3. Wager in units with the TC.
