On Monday 17 April, work will start on linking our Maternity Postnatal Wards to the new Midwifery-Led Unit and this is expected to take around five weeks.

A new non-invasive way to test jaundice in babies is being introduced today at Walsall Healthcare NHS Trust.
It will be implementing Transcutaneous Bilirubin (TcB) testing (screening tool) instead of taking a blood sample.

Births in the East of England were up 2,741 last year, but the number of NHS midwives working in the region was down at the last count. More births but fewer midwives. We need to retain the NHS midwives we have while training and recruiting more. A decent NHS pay rise would help
