I'm Comanche, and yes, I celebrate Columbus Day.
Those of you who know my story will probably figure it out quickly, but for those who don't, I was adopted as a child by a White Oklahoman couple.
Columbus could never have foreseen how many lives he would affect--positively and negatively--when he made his famous crossing.
That is the hallmark of great men and women throughout history. They understand that they have a destiny that they must fulfill, come what may, and they cannot whilst fulfilling that destiny worry about all of the possible things that might occur long after they die.
When Columbus entered the Americas, he was entering a battlefield in contest between great empires that had nothing to do with the empires he'd left at home.
The Native Americans that he encountered saw in him an opportunity to destroy their enemies, as Columbus himself at the same time saw in them an opportunity to enhance the glory of Spain and his Queen.
Were it not for Columbus, for his grand insane dream, nothing that you or I have ever done would have come to fruition. Those who condemn him condemn the architect of their existence.
For me, when I look at Columbus, I see a man whose bravery I had few limits, whose ambition was only matched by his brilliance.
He was a meteor amongst pebbles, and such men always draw the envy of lesser beings.
He was a Brave. He must be celebrated.

Gen Xer here. 👋
I would HAPPILY forego every dollar that was ever taken out of my paycheck for Social Security if it meant that my child and grandchildren were no longer economically shackled to the corpse of this New Deal Ponzi scheme.
I never wanted a Social Security check, I never expected a Social Security check, and I don’t need a Social Security check.
Most Gen Xers would happily write the whole program off as a loss since none of us ever expected to receive Social Security to begin with.
The money is gone and already spent. There is no “lock box” or personal savings account that my social security contributions have gone into. Nor do I care how much money you THINK the federal government owes because it doesn’t.
Again.
Gen X doesn’t need Social Security. We already took care of our retirement plans ourselves.
This entitlement scheme needs to end with us.

The whole reason that such a thing as a civil society ever existed is that hard men did what was necessary to have it.
Not you. You are a coward.

NEW TESTIMONY: “I was sexually abused because of Xavier Becerra.”
Migrant girl sent to child traffickers after Becerra dismantled HHS vetting procedures. Forced to work 20 hour days—no pay, no water. Slept on ceramic floor surrounded by men. Sexually assaulted.
“They kept me like a slave. Becerra failed to protect me.”

I am officially making the offer of my services to any cucked Western nation to act as your crime deterrent.
If migrants are raping/abusing your kids, I will scalp them in full Comanche ceremonal garb on live television. I'll be the bad guy.
Crime guaranteed to plummet.
Impressive. This set of talks, along with the new America dot gov website, has the unmistakable feel of an Apple launch event. They're rebooting the federal government as a tech startup. Several observations.
(1) First, with this new AI interface to the entire federal government, if it works as promised, there won't be a single American who can't say their life wasn't helped at least in part by AI, or that the benefits accrued solely to zillionaires. This in itself cannily mitigates anti-datacenter sentiment.
(2) Second, Joe Gebbia and Marco Rubio's talks on simplifying name changes and passport filings introduce a completely new era where the US government is actually launching tangible features that benefit users.
(3) Third, this launch event in and of itself may visibly drive reform. It could become much more important than the State of the Union. Unlike laws, code is user-visible, and can be instantly audited by the public, as Obama found out with the failed obamacare website launch. So: the annual America dot gov event may be substance, whereas SOTU is traditionally optics. I wouldn't be surprised to see the President present at the next one.
(4) Fourth, this kind of event is a perfect example of where tech and red cooperate best. They both hate bureaucracy. Automating paperwork with code reduces the power of statists over both capitalists and nationalists. It's also hard to undo by other admins: once you digitize a process, hard to turn it back to paper.
(5) Fifth, it's an obvious point perhaps, but think about how much influence YCombinator has had in 20 years. From Gebbia's Airbnb joining their 2009 batch to a complete overhaul of the user interface of the US bureaucracy, and thus the US government.
(6) Sixth, this is another take on the network state. The functional part of the US (the network, meaning tech) is merging with and partially reforming the dysfunctional part (the state, meaning bureaucracy) by automating 20th century paper forms.
As a tech startup, there will no doubt be bugs and user issues and so on, but unlike with paper laws those issues will be visible and the code fixes will be verifiable. A new era of AI America. Rooting for them.

The winning midterm platform for the right.
1. We are going to deport all illegals. First via civil means then via criminal removals. Banking, insurance, and trade licensure.l to start.
2. We are going to withhold federal welfare funds to states until they can affirmatively prove their recipients are qualified US Citizens.
3. Federal elections require only citizen voting. I’d start here with voting reform.
4. Transparency in government. Every grant requires a fund-line and tie to appropriations or other source of funds. No more congressionally mandated political slush funds like what happened under IRA etc.
5. Transparency in government. State Governors and Attorney Generals may petition for the release of sensitive domestic law enforcement records related to foreign/domestic law enforcement organizations/personnel. Simple majority of those present in disclosure meetings can vote for public release on any docs. Basically FBI abuses and intelligence adjacent topics like Epstein are too big/complex for fedgov to self regulate so downselect to states as a tenth amendment check.
6. The federal judicial branch has never really been audited by the other two branches. Don’t know how but somehow the executive and the legislative work together to review/overhaul the non-supreme court federal judiciary. It’s clearly evolved into an uncontrollable 4th branch of government.
7. I’d also personally push for an after action inquiry into what intelligence community adjacent situation created 1m Somali’s in Minnesota. That’s clearly not an organic immigration phenomenon. There are others but I’d like to start there.
