🎹 15 yr music industry - sidelined from tinnitus. 📈 now I help businesses grow. 🎙️ interviewing SMB founders @ The Come Up

I run 'The Come Up' - an interview series for business owners. I started it because I was frustrated with biz content that was overly reductive and frankly mostly BS. The hope is to give a more authentic look into entrepreneurship - good, bad & ugly!

It's time to demand more from our government. Thrilled to be putting in our proposal to bring Radical Accountability to Canada. Couldn't be more happy to be working on this with someone as passionate, thoughtful and strong as Ben.

3 things that standout: 1. She didn’t just “build a community” — she tapped into one she was already part of, which skyrocketed customer acq. 2. Its an “overnight success” that, in reality, took years of pivoting. 3. She found PMF ACTUALLY listening to her audience.

Wouldn't it be cool if the Toronto Small Biz Summit in TO headlined actual small business owners instead of gov. workers and reps from multi nationals?

A big project I’ve been working on for one client is building systems to help their team communicate better. This can be an ambiguous area to measure ROI, but if left unaddressed, can end up costing a business a ton of $. So far, the solve has boiled down to two main things:

The result was a bunch of people standing around pointing at each other like the Spiderman meme. Not helpful.

Changing team culture is often more difficult than starting from scratch, but we’ve taken huge strides to get the team communicating better which has streamlined ops (saving $!) and reduced the # of errors, helping generate more $!
