Do you ever think about the mechanical forces generated by the actin cytoskeleton? Dr. Matthew Tyska's lab uses Journal cover worthy microscopy to understand these questions!
Combining biochemistry and biophysics, Dr. Tyska's lab uncovers the diverse role of unipolar actin bundles, which extend from epithelial cells and support apical membrane tissues.
Register now to hear their diverse roles in intestinal epithelial cells! forms.gle/nCq4QeUNmfjp7diR6
Have you ever wondered how cells protect their nuclei from damage while squeezing through tightly packed tissues? The Spiliotis lab at the University of Virginia have!
Dr. Elias Spiliotis will share how septin filaments anchor and protect nuclei during migration at TCM 2026!
SEPT9 is a septin amplified in breast cancer. The Spiliotis lab combines live imaging of migrating cells, Clinicogenomic data, and more to tease apart SEPT9's mechanoprotective role.
