Tomorrow will be the first Bristol Cup race without a Busch brother in it since August 26, 2000
In the 48 Bristol races since then no one has won there more than Kyle and Kurt:
Kyle Busch - 8 wins
Kurt Busch - 6 wins
Carl Edwards - 4 wins
Denny Hamlin - 4 wins
Matt Kenseth - 4 wins
I know Connor Zilisch’s win was impressive, but I spent the race in the infield at Watkins Glen and my shoes came out looking like this
Devastating man…. we lost a legend🙏
No one has ever come closer to winning a Championship in all of NASCAR’s top three series than Greg Biffle:
Cup: Runner-up in 2005
O’Reilly: Champion in 2002
Trucks: Champion in 2000
A random stat about MTJ from 2015, he led the most laps in 4 straight races in the Spring:
Kansas - 95
Charlotte - 131
Dover - 131
Pocono - 97
This is the only time since the Summer of 2001 (Jeff Gordon) that a driver has accomplished this
I don’t think we talk about this final four appearance enough man. Guy gets let go from one of the most well funded teams in the garage for something he had no part in.
Has a miserable following year with a team that’s trying to rebuild and is more or less written off afterwards
Does a complete 180 the next year and is legitimately in the convo for the title.
People can say his career was elevated by pearl/Equipment all they want but this is genuinely one of the most impressive “dig deep moments” I’ve seen
Random, but Montoya’s start to the 2009 Chase isn’t talked about enough
After 4 races:
4 Top 5s (most of anyone)
184 laps led (2nd most)
670 points (3rd most)
592 laps in the top 5 (most of anyone)
769 laps in the top 10 (most of anyone)
4.27 avg run pos (best of anyone)
I feel like it’s worth mentioning I’ve been making these for a few years now and I do them because I love diving into numbers and sharing them.
The idea/motivation behind this is just to put as many stat points as I can onto one sheet, purely because I think it’s cool.
Interestingly, since 2014, excluding the finale, the winner of Race 7 of the Playoffs has won the Championship five times, two more than any other race
Race 2 of the Playoffs is the only race to never produce a Champion
Denny Hamlin has now won both of these races in 2025
Three #Championship4 tickets remain.
Who's next to join @dennyhamlin?
I think it should go to the pole-sitter
On “Hauler Talk,” @mforde says NASCAR is considering making Fastest Lap point for lead-lap cars only after Josh Berry became the third wrecked car this season to come back out after repairs and get the extra point. Would be an offseason change.
I always thought Kevin Harvick and Jimmie Johnson being the only two drivers in the history of NASCAR (5+ starts) to have more wins than DNFs was pretty insane.
