During the broadcast, the guest stated that the couple should be "put down" by the Royal Family ("the Firm") and that they need to "neutralise the threat" (Meghan). In the context of public discourse and high-profile figures who already face significant security risks and intense scrutiny, phrasing a criticism as a call to "put down" and "neutralise" a human being, even if intended metaphorically, is an extremely irresponsible, menacing, and potentially inciting statement to broadcast on television. Broadcasters have a regulatory duty under the Ofcom Broadcasting Code to protect audiences and prevent the transmission of harmful or deeply offensive material that could encourage or normalize hostility or physical harm. Airing language that explicitly suggests individuals be "put down" and "neutralised" crosses the line of acceptable editorial standards and poses serious safety and welfare concerns.
