France has already begun carrying out covert conventional military responses against Russian hybrid attacks in Europe, amid growing concern across the continent of direct hostile action against NATO in the near future by Russia, with a French military source telling the French newspaper Le Monde: “It’s already the case,” when asked if Paris could respond militarily, without public knowledge, against Russia.

After illegally bulldozing half of the White House, Trump bans media that won’t lie for him from the other half.
Every self-respecting media entity in America should boycott what’s left of the White House if he keeps violating press freedom.
BREAKING: President Trump says he is banning CNN, MSNOW and Politico from the White House over their coverage. apnews.com/article/trump-cnn…
A free press means free to say and report what they want to focus on
Here's MS NOW reporter @gardnerakayla describing her arrival at the White House this morning. Her badge didn't work. "The officer asked me to hand over my badge. He said that it was disabled. I asked why I was not able to get inside. He said it was above him."

As I told @AliVelshi the major networks and newspapers need to tell Trump they will pull their teams out of the WH if this ban happens. There should be no pool coverage, starting at the UN this week. No WH Correspondents Dinner. Cancel that. Band together and hang tough.

Patients were fighting for treatment. UnitedHealth executives were allegedly cashing out.
UnitedHealth shareholders allege company executives sold more than $237 million in stock while serious risks remained hidden from investors—including accusations of Medicare fraud, and denials of medically necessary care.

What a phenomenal lecture.
In 1983, an 80-year-old Navy admiral held up a piece of wire and proved that almost every engineer in the room had been lying to their bosses about the speed of their own computers.
Grace Hopper cut the wire to 11.8 inches — the maximum distance light can travel in one nanosecond. Anyone who quoted a chip speed in nanoseconds without knowing that number didn't actually understand what they were selling.
The wire wasn't a teaching prop. It was a public test. Generals and executives had been nodding along to "nanosecond" for years without being able to picture one — she made the invisible unit something you could hold, and something you could be caught not understanding in front of a room.
42 years later, computers run in picoseconds, a distance a thousand times shorter than what she was cutting, and nobody hands out the proof on live TV anymore.
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
Grace Hopper's wire demonstration was a longstanding educational teaching aid she used from the late 1960s to help audiences visualize nanoseconds and signal delays, not a 1983 public test proving engineers lied or were caught not understanding.

Today I can publicly announce that I am part of a landmark lawsuit against all of the major AI companies. I'm suing Anthropic, OpenAI, X, and Google because we deserve real AI safety standards, not shady deals cut by an unaccountable cartel of billionaires in a back room.
Since July, these companies have been meeting privately to plan a response to growing public pressure for real AI regulation. Then Anthropic's CEO published an essay saying the industry should slow down. Within hours, Musk and Altman said publicly that they agreed.
They're branding it as a safety breakthrough, but it's not. It's four corporations agreeing not to compete on the one thing regulators were about to force them to adopt — safety standards. This is a blatant violation of the Sherman Act, which outlaws corporations joining forces to dodge public pressure together instead of facing it alone.
The timing isn't a coincidence, either. This "deal" was struck at the exact moment lawmakers were gaining real momentum to pass binding AI regulations. So instead of enforceable law, we got a deal cut among the companies themselves — one they wrote, they enforce, and they can rewrite whenever it’s in their best interest.
This publicly announced pinky promise gave Mike Johnson cover to adjourn the House of Representatives just before they could pass binding legislation on the topic.
If these companies actually believe their products could risk human extinction, how to move forward is not a decision four CEOs get to make behind closed doors, weighing their profit margins against the harms done to users, the economy, and the environment. That's the government's job — with real transparency into how the rules are written and how they are enforced.
So I'm suing. Because rules written by the industry, for the industry, policed by the industry aren't safety standards. They're a grift. And the public should be writing the rules — not four billionaires.

Out this insurance corporation!
The illegal corporate practice of medicine in Texas needs to mean something!
Looking at you AG @KenPaxtonTX !!!!
If you are gonna jaw at the B12, tell that BS Insurance Corp to stay in their lane too
My patient has breast cancer. I’m her doctor. I’m in network with her insurance. She wants me to perform her surgery.
And yet, after denying our request for me to operate at the facility where I believe she can receive the safest care, @redbudsurgerycenter, her insurance company contacted her and directed her to another doctor.
A patient navigating cancer already has enough decisions to make. She should not have to defend her choice of physician because of a disagreement over where that physician operates.
Trying to tell a doctor where they can operate is invasive enough.
But telling a patient with cancer that she should see a different surgeon, when she has already chosen the doctor she trusts to care for her?
That has gone way too far.

Jon Stewart on the Supreme Court: “They have single-handedly made it impossible for us to reform and save our democracy. The way they have made it that corporations are people and money is speech. There has to be a process of amending the Constitution. This idea that Citizens United stands as the law of the land is the biggest bunch of shit. The Constitution is in a suicide pact and money in elections is killing this country”
