The Heathrow Business Coalition took to the road to #Cornwall 🌍 We brought together leading UK businesses at @Tregothnan for the latest meeting, focused on how Heathrow can support growth, trade and opportunities for businesses across the UK. ✈️ Members heard the latest from Heathrow, including that more than 40 airlines are seeking access to the airport – highlighting the demand for new connections and the opportunities greater capacity could unlock for passengers and businesses. 🌍 We heard from Tregothnan’s Managing Director Jonathon Jones OBE, about its operations in Cornwall and how it exports to more than 50 countries, including through Heathrow, as well as from @cornwallchamber's CEO Toby Parkins about the opportunities and challenges facing businesses across the region. 💬 Coalition members shared updates from their own businesses and discussed how we can work together to support UK-wide growth, including through greater connectivity, supply chains, skills and training. 🏗️ We also discussed Heathrow expansion and its potential to create more than 100,000 jobs and 5,000 apprenticeships, alongside new opportunities for businesses across the country. ✈️ Belfast International Airport, Cornwall Airport Newquay, Leeds Bradford Airport, Liverpool John Lennon Airport and Teesside International Airport have been identified as the most likely to benefit from new or restored Heathrow connections to Heathrow, when additional airport capacity is delivered by a third runway. New research from @FrontierEcon highlights the five UK airports as the strongest candidates for new domestic routes linked to Heathrow, the UK’s hub airport, based on clear evidence of underlying demand from passengers. @HeathrowAirport is already operating at capacity. In 2025 almost 5 million passengers travelled across Heathrow’s domestic routes, supporting an estimated £1.2bn in gross tourism spend nationwide.
