1. Spent some time this morning in one of my fave local haunts. Got out before I died from the heat! Wardlow hay cop, a 39ha slice of upland hawthorn wood-pasture. Scrub pasture? Birds were deafening today.

Who said scrub was not pretty? The May blossom on hawthorn is amazing at the moment providing massive food sources for invertebrates!!

‘Insomnia’ I’ve made many visits to Bolehill Quarry now, and time spent there amongst the beautiful silver birches, hidden from the surface of the landscape, are always in my thoughts. My connections with these trees continue… #peakdistrict #iPhone #photography #wellbeing

I’m very happy to have found the tree today that I posted earlier, it’s only taken me 7 years😉It was so lovely to spend an hour or so in its company photographing & sketching. I chose portrait format but planning a bigger landscape soon. #peakdistrict #photography #pencilsketch

It’s a sad one for this #thicktrunktuesday , this beautiful trunk (oak I think..) has finally laid itself to rest in Chatsworth grounds , was quite emotional on discovering it. I believe it will now form part of the mycology network. #tres #circleoflife #mycology #derbyshire – at East Midlands, England
