Steve Jobs took 19 seconds to name the biggest lesson Apple taught him:
“When I see something not being done right, my first reaction isn’t to go fix it.”
I’m not going to please everyone. I’m not going to get everyone from the city. That’s honestly fine at this point. I’ve done so much impossible shit that the fact that I’m even breathing is more peace in life than any achievement ever makes.
Big love to MGK because his journey has kept me sober from hard drugs, while working in music the past 6 years full time in Cleveland.
being so turnt, you can’t work is not a flex. Suppressing the help you need isn’t cool.
This is sacred ground. We can maintain.
Fuck people and brand pleasing.
If they rock with it , sweet.
If they don’t, fuck you. Lolol. Show me better!
Today is about to be a good day! Not waiting for anyone or anything to get me where I’m going!!! Let’s get it.

Steve Jobs explained why Japanese companies are known for quality, and they never once put the word "quality" in their ads.
"The people who do not use quality in their marketing are the Japanese. You never see them do it."
"It's only the American companies that do. And yet if you ask people on the street which products have the best reputation for quality, they will tell you the Japanese products."
"Customers don't form their opinion on quality from marketing. They form it from their own experience with the product."
The lesson is simple.
You can't tell people your product is good. They decide that themselves, after they use it.
So stop saying it. Start building it.

I love that this is the common place within industry now but it is so hard to accept because by the time ppl are 30, they’ve been in this industry for YEARS 10-15 years already and have been beat down by it.. I guess cream rises to the top, but I know too many ppl who hit this threshold in life & the twinkle in their eye about it is gone

who's Bwheezy by the way? who did he work with, or was he mostly known for designing sounds like you?

every week there's a new "Ben Affleck flexing his AI knowledge" clip
Ben Affleck says AI is simply matrix multiplication, linear algebra and floating point calculations, and however convincingly it sounds like a person, it has nothing to do with thought, humanity or feeling
“Nor do I believe, and I think it’s important to draw the distinction between what AI does, which is simply predict the next token or the next word in a sentence, then add that word on, run it back to the machine, do a lot of computation and pick the next word."
"That is a very different thing than sentience or thought. And I think we need to be really clear about that because it can be convincingly, in an illusory way, sound like thought or like a person."
"But let’s be real clear. This is matrix multiplication. This is linear algebra. These are floating point calculations. It has nothing to do with thought, humanity, or feeling.”
"We are spending millions sending AI experts to learn business. We should be sending business operators to learn AI.
Business knowledge is slow. It took most of my career to instinctively know which trade-offs to make around working capital and inventory.
AI execution is fast. An experienced operational team can master agentic tooling, evals, and model orchestration in a matter of months.
We are running the harder transfer at immense cost and mistaking it for progress."

I can back this up from every implementation we've done at Varick (Finance, Operations, HR, all of it).
The exceptions often live in one person's head. Think the vendor who keeps invoicing against a PO that was closed months ago, or the customer whose payment terms got changed on a phone call and no one updated the ERP. These nuances are never documented, and it's not something you can pick up during a 6-week engagement as an AI engineer.
On the flip side, we've seen controllers and Accounts Payable managers learn to read evals and write rules that improve agent outputs in just a few short weeks.
As a result, when we come into a company to implement AI, we start with the operators of a workflow. Our engineers sit with them to understand every nook and cranny of the workflow, translate that into rules the agents can use, and then train those operators to manage the agents once we leave.
If you're interested in doing this kind of AI transformation inside your company, book a call below.

🎚️ Mike Dean on his approach to mixing.
"I work very quickly, and when I mix, I stay very true to the demo. Producers sometimes work on demos for years. For a mixer to take off the effects is just a waste of time.
It is like buying a new car, and saying: OK, I am going to take the transmission out and then put it back. Especially with the rap stuff, everybody has very specific vocal effects, which are part of their sound, and you want to respect that.”
@natemixing
And these things are also OK. It’s ok to feel things. Your whole life isn’t over. Take it with a grain of salt.
lost so many people that I thought were so for me and it was the healthiest thing for me to truly understand how special life can get, when you're ready for it.
I've learned this year that a lot of my peers genuinely want to see me miserable and beneath them, no matter how happy I am for them and no matter how much I help them.
I'll never submit to negativity. I am happy for everyone, even if they get to where I'm going quicker.
