This response is another good example of how much Kyrie has matured, and what a thoughtful locker room guy he's become, since his PR missteps from several years ago
Kyrie Irving was asked does he ever feel like he’s coaching Dusty May due to him being a first-time NBA head coach.
Irving said he wanted to be careful responding because his comments about Steve Nash were taken out of context six years ago.
“I'm a veteran myself, but my voice carries weight, so I'm aware of that, and so does Dusty. So I never want to step on his toes and get in the way.”
Dwight Powell, a consummate pro and non-ironically a franchise legend in his own way.
A leader and a man everyone respected.
He was also a pretty good player in his peak years.
Salute.

I'm sorry we never got a chance to meet, but getting this note from Dolly really had a an impact on me. She definitely didn't have to take the time to do it. Even for a kid who mostly listened to rap music, she was an icon. A superstar in every sense. Rest easy Dolly. And thank you for the kind words.

BREAKING: Your head coach "really loves the intensity" at fall practice. There have been some scuffles, some guys a little hyped up, but the energy is good: "These boys are ready to hit somebody in a different color uniform."

Nellie… You didn't just draft me. You believed in me. You saw things in my game before I ever realized I could do them. I've said it a million times and I will always say it: I don't think my career could have turned out how it did without you being my first coach and giving me the freedom to play my game. I can only say THANK YOU. For everything.
RIP legend.

It’s a sad day for basketball with the passing of Don Nelson.
I have so much respect for him and everything he did for the game, especially the way he believed in international players. I’m grateful for the time I spent with him.
Thinking of the entire Nelson family today. I loved getting to know you, Coach.

Vince Young explains his parenting style and why he refuses to turn his son’s football career into an extension of his own
“I don’t get involved with the coaching stuff. I help out. I go throw the ball to him. Point out little small things that I feel like he can fix.”
“Me, I’m more so like loving him. ‘I’m proud of you, son.’ I’m a fan.”
“I’m going to watch my son, man. I’m just proud of him.”
“I didn’t have my dad around. He was in and out of jail. I had to depend on guys like TJ’s dad… And my other teammates’ dads… To tell me they were proud of me.”
“When I’m around my kids… I want them to know… ‘I love you.’ I’m not on your ass… Telling you what you can do better. I’m not yelling at you.”
“You’re going to make mistakes… But let’s fix it together.”
“Me and my son and daughter… We go to therapy together. They hear me talk to the therapist… And vent out what’s bothering me… Then he and she can feel comfortable doing the same thing.”
Here’s what I love about this Risacher move. It tells me Masai knows the Mavs’ best strategy this year is to take low-risk swings that have a low probability of connecting but a high reward if they do.
They are blessed with time to try a few of these because Coop is so young.
Doesn't really move the needle much for me, but not a bad signing
Just in: Free agent forward Tobias Harris has agreed to a two-year, $31 million deal with the San Antonio Spurs, sources tell ESPN. Harris exits the Pistons after helping lead a franchise turnaround and now joins a young contending team in the Western Conference.
I mean this is a lot better than DeAndre Ayton, but the Lakers are not contending with this roster. I don't really understand the point.
Come on home to Dallas, LD
BREAKING: The Los Angeles Lakers are acquiring Walker Kessler from the Utah Jazz for unprotected first-round picks in 2031 and 2033 and first-round swaps in 2028 and 2030, sources tell ESPN. Kessler will sign a massive four-year, $130 million deal with the Lakers.
This would be a nice pickup
The Mavericks have emerged a leading suitor to acquire Detroit's Marcus Sasser via trade, league sources tell @TheSteinLine.

People will be like "But could they have traded back and still gotten him?" as though that is not something an NBA front office knows it can try to do
Mavs don’t need to draft a point guard tonight because Kyrie can do that for a couple years until 77 returns to the 214
