I recently took the @Rivian R2 on a 3,496 mile road trip.
Here's the truth about how it did 👇

Given that the @Rivian Autonomy Early Access Program is launching in California and Florida, it may be a while. But I’m ready to test all the things when they are. 🫡

Did @Tesla ever actually fulfill on their quarterly vehicle sweepstakes in the referral program years ago? 🤔
I know many people are owed a mythical Roadster from the 2017-2019 program… but what about the one after that?
Real? Or smoke and mirrors?
Port Angeles, WA is a good one.
Page, AZ will be helpful for options, but I charged at the very solid IONNA there on my road trip and it was the best charge rate of the entire trip.
Rivian has added 28 new upcoming Adventure Network locations to the public map, including some of the following:
Port Angeles, WA
Jackson, WY
Salinas, CA
Yuma, AZ
Page, AZ
Fairplay, CO
Frisco, CO
Chicago, IL
Riverhead, NY

I found myself driving across the state and back this past week for a family health issue.
An interesting thing I found was that 2026.36.40 was immediately noticeable for the relaxed driver monitoring on the way out.
However, 2026.36.41 on the way back was the most nagging I've ever had by the system no matter how obvious I was looking forward.
Sunglasses on or off did not seem to make a difference.
I will say though, having Rivian Assistant back in R2 after having it in our R1 vehicles has been a welcome qualify of life improvement!
It's a bit baffling why we are still waiting on Camp Mode and Climate Keep for R2... 🧐
Time for a new @Rivian Recap.
- Details about the point-to-point rollout
- Updated video collection privacy
- Owners take R2 seat ventilation into their own hands
- More settings persistence issues
- A big time hire for a Rivian spin-off

IONNA continues to demonstrate why they are the best in the biz.
🔧 We've been tinkering in the lab. Our dispensers just got a little update, and we want you to come test it out!
Here's what we've got cookin' up:
⚡️ Pre-2021 Tesla? A friendly compatibility heads-up right on screen, no surprises.
⚡️ Charging slow? The screen tells you if it's the dispenser or your car that's limiting the speed.
⚡️ GM drivers, this one's for you: no more cryptic "bad plug in" screen while the dispenser is just waking your car up. Sit tight and it'll get there.
⚡️ The cost screen shows more of the math.
Small tweaks make a big difference, and we are just getting started. Something even bigger is brewing behind the scenes, but good things take testing.
Go on, give it a shake and tell us how it treats you. 🛠️

What should be an exciting week with Halloween mode has us looking instead at the two ways @Rivian changed the R2 you ordered.
I did not enjoy making this video, but my commitment to the larger community demanded it be done.

I really don't want to be this guy, but @Rivian has pulled a fast one and it needs to be addressed.
In early versions of the R2 owners manual, it explicitly stated that all on-road drive modes were persistent.
Only off-road was to reset after 4 hours of no driving.
This means any test drive, or prospective buyer who put in effort to test the vehicle and read the manual would've assumed the vehicle operated as stated.
Now, they are retroactively going back and changing the drive mode behavior to be like dual-motor R1 instead of like the performance tri and quad motor variants.
On tri and quad R1, your drive mode is persistent until you, the driver, elect to change it.
Observed behavior before this change was that Conserve would persist, but sport etc were reverting.
Given all the bugs in OS 2, I had chalked this inconsistency up to bugs vs EPA games.
These EPA games were the primary driving force for trading in my Gen2 Dual Max R1T, because I *hated* how the auto suspension and clutch disconnect were forced after 4 hours.
I've attached screenshots from the just updated manual compared to what has been present in all prior versions.
This is an unacceptable change in vehicle behavior, even if the clutch disconnect in R2 is much improved.
At the end of the day, this is now the vehicle you sold people and needs to be rectified.

This has been a feature I've wanted out of my EVs since the first day I bought one.
It seemed like such a waste to have that much capacity just sitting in your driveway.
Bravo to Tesla for binging this to supported models (mostly new) via OTA.
Hey @Rivian ... it's time.✌️
Apparently @Rivian started blocking the extremely light fetch I did on inventory for my Lease and Lease vs Buy tools.
So for now at least, the URL paste feature is gone. Sorry folks, but until Rivian wants to actually provide a real API for this they will add friction.
Today @Rivian announced Q3 production and delivery, with big increases across the board.
19,751 vehicles produced
19,248 vehicles delivered
Deliveries are up 45.8% vs Q3 last year, and 57.8% vs last quarter. Annual guidance remains (65-70k).
While not focused on stock analysis, the health and ramp of R2 is of interest to the community and owners.
My live earnings call multi-cast will be October 29th at 5pm Eastern/2pm Pacific followed by Q&A.
It's time for your @Rivian Recap.
- Rivian's biggest software push is coming in hot
- Spooky updates are imminent
- Pet Mode features
- Road trip recap
