This letter is exactly why people have a low view on lawyers.
Gina Hinojosa's campaign sent cease-and-desist letters to TV stations Friday demanding they yank a Greg Abbott attack ad that claims she voted to raise taxes 40 times. Read letter: documentcloud.org/documents/…

The GOP needs show American families that they care about their economic concerns. Then they need to present solutions.

Let's win in memory of Gerald! Every weekend counts as we head into "knocktober" -- especially with one man down -- so adopt a campaign and let's keep the momentum going strong. Early voting begins in 17 days.

Austin is declaring war on immigration enforcement.
The city wants a law barring its police from helping ICE, even though its own lawyers concede Texas banned exactly that in 2017.
So the city paid a "human rights consulting group" $75,000 to tell the city to pass the ordinance anyway and commit taxpayer money to fighting the state when it sues.
Meanwhile, council approved another $854,872 for immigration contracts to assist migrants, pushing their combined ceilings to $6.68 million.
A city commission then voted 7-0 to ask council to "reaffirm the separation" between APD and ICE, fund new legal aid clinics, expand "Know Your Rights" training for migrants, require reporting whenever city resources touch federal immigration authorities, and formally ask the federal government to stop ICE operations in Austin.
On Monday, a second commission takes up the same request and discusses emergency relief for families separated by detention. Last year it voted 10-0 for a fund handing cash grants for rent, utilities and food to families whose breadwinner is detained or deported.
Austin is building a full-service government for people the federal government is trying to deport, and sending the bill to taxpayers.
Wait … didnt there used to be a District 6 Council satellite location on Anderson Mill? Who closed it, we wonder? 🚗🚓🚙

Replying to @JohnCornyn
@JohnCornyn was first GOP TX Attorney General since Reconstruction. Think about that. @GovHotWheels_TX was second. @KenPaxtonTX third. Cornyn sued Clinton admin. Abbott sued Obama admin. After 11 years in office as AG, Paxton got to sue Obama and Biden.

🚨 BREAKING: The Secret Service and U.S. military reportedly told President Trump it was TOO DANGEROUS to fly into Oklahoma for tonight’s rally because of the weather.
So 47 took the motorcade 100 MILES to Durant rather than miss the rally. 🇺🇸🔥
Trump said:
“The Beast is going faster than it has ever gone before.”
😂
That’s a LONG presidential motorcade — and the crowd is still waiting.
🚨 Trump just refuses to slow down. Full story on my profile. 👀🇺🇸

THE WEATHER GROUNDED THE PLANES, SO PRESIDENT TRUMP IS DRIVING TO OKLAHOMA IN THE BEAST.
His team wanted him to postpone the event, and he told them there was no way he was letting Oklahoma down.
Think about that for a second, because most politicians would have canceled with a tweet and gone home.
Joe Biden couldn't make it through a press conference, and Trump is barreling up the highway from Texas to keep his word to the people.
That's why the base loves this man, because he actually shows up when it's hard.
Oklahoma, get ready, because the President is on his way and he's not slowing down 🇺🇸
🧐 Except that there has already been radical Leftism at UT for several decades. Some might say it's the established order on campus.
Conservative/MAGA/Liberty pushback in such a spirited manner is, however, "evidence of a political shift" on the Forty Acres. You love to see it.
Hasan Piker thanked UT Austin students and addressed the pushback leading up to the speech. He said the persistence of organizers and attendees was evidence of a political shift in deep-red Texas ahead of the upcoming midterm elections.
